Knockan
Bunessan, Isle of Mull, Argyll

Summary
Knockan Holiday Cottage offers self catering holiday accommodation in Bunessan on the Isle of Mull. Our cottage is clean, comfortable, well equipped and has an authentic island atmosphere. It is in the beautiful setting of the Isle of Mull giving you an ideal base to explore the local area.
Inside the Cottage
The house lies about a mile and a half on the Craignure side of Bunessan, on a small country road leading down from the A849 to the sea.The cottage is sunny and sheltered, standing in its own fenced grounds and surrounded by open moorland or fields. The sea shore is only a hundred yards down the road. It isn’t sandy, but the rock pools are fun, and there is lots of wildlife to be seen, including seals and otters.
The cottage can accommodate five comfortably (six at a squeeze), provided the sixth doesn’t mind a folding bed. Upstairs in Knockan is an attic bedroom with twin beds, the stairs to the attic are fixed, but very steep and would be difficult for an older person to negotiate and a double bedroom with standard double bed.
Downstairs in the holiday cottage there is the Living/dining room and a modern kitchen with electric cooker. The porch/utility room with has a fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine and tumble drier.
Our cottage has a modern bathroom with electric shower (no bath). Apart from the porch, kitchen and bathroom, the cottage is carpeted throughout. We also prove a folding cot, a high chair, a safety harness, a safety gate for the stairs, a fireguard and a baby bath if you are visiting the holiday cottage with small children.
Knockan's Garden
The garden is reasonably childproof and the road beside the house is very quiet. The garden is fenced and pets in the care of responsible owners are welcome, provided you inform us at the time of booking. We assume that you will not allow your pets to soil or damage the house or its furnishings, foul the garden area or disturb livestock and that you will accept liability for any damage they may cause.Location
The Ross of Mull is a wonderfully varied area, having a range of magnificent beaches, as well as the most rugged terrain, most of it unspoiled. Walkers, geologists, birdwatchers and botanists find it a paradise. Some guests report seeing unbelievably large numbers of bird species, including sea eagles and golden eagles (of which there are several pairs along the south coast). Orchids, rare in most other parts of Britain, are found among many other wild flowers on the heathlands. From Iona Ferry, you can also sail to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles bird sanctuary. There is a current information pack in the cottage. For further information please visit our website
