Granton Coach House is an 18th Century stone built property in the grounds of Granton House in Goodrich. We are between Ross on Wye and Monmouth in the Wye Valley. Our charming property in Herefordshire is perfect for an idyllic break in a lovely part of the country.
AccommodationThis superb cottage offers comfortable accommodation and is on the first floor. The cottage sleeps up to 2 people and is perfect for a romantic break away. This cottage has an original wooden floor, contemporary furnishings, lots of exposed beams and a cosy wood burner.
The spacious open plan living area is perfect for relaxing. It comes with a high beamed ceiling, comfortable leather settee, a single sofa chair and cosy wood burner. The kitchen is well equipped and comes with an electric oven & hob, microwave, integrated fridge with small freezer compartment and a dishwasher. The separate small utility room is accessed from the veranda and is ideal to hang coats and dry walking boots etc. It comes with a washing machine.
A super king-size double bedroom (zip & link beds which can be two singles on request) comes with a luxury en suite shower room.
Facilities include a flat-screen TV, DVD player and a stereo/CD player. Wi-Fi access is available if guests bring their laptops. Fuel together with a starter pack for the wood burner is included in the rent in cooler months. Further logs and kindling are supplied at a small extra cost. All bed linen, towels and tea towels are included in the rent. It has central heating throughout. A cot & highchair are available on request.
The veranda is a wonderful place to sit and listen to the birdsong. The woodland garden has a patio with a table, chairs and BBQ. Another seating area with table and chairs is in the front garden which catches the afternoon sun. Off road parking is available for 1 car.
Visiting Goodrich & Exploring HerefordshireThe coach house is the perfect base to explore the local area. Plenty of activities are available locally: walking, forest trails, fishing, canoeing, horse riding or golf. Beautiful gardens and National Trust properties are nearby. The house is approximately 40 minutes from Chepstow, Hereford and Cheltenham racecourses. Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham airports are approximately an hour away with Heathrow airport being approximately two and a half hours away.
The famous Celtic Manor golf course is about 25 minutes away by car. Goodrich Castle is just a short walk away and is well worth a visit. The spectacular Symonds Yat, the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and the Royal Forest of Dean are close by. Cardiff, Hay-on-Wye, Abergavenny, Malvern and the Cotswolds are all less than an hour’s drive away.
