Nantcaw Fawr Farmhouse suts at the foothills of Cader Idris on Nantcaw Fawr Farm and is a family friendly self catering holiday home that enjoys wonderful views of the surrounding Gwynedd countryside. Our farm is nestled within the Snowdonia National Park by the village of Llanfihangel-y-Pennant and offers plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling and birdwatching.
About Nantcaw Fawr Farmhouse
Our Welsh farmhouse is set on a working farm with mostly sheep and cattle in the summer. This place has a rugged feel and makes you want to explore more of its surrounding hills and valleys. The holiday home is a traditional farmhouse which is a Grade II listed building with CADW. It offers four bedrooms, 3 double rooms and one single which accommodates seven people comfortably, there is also a cot available. Rooms are tastefully decorated with antique and pine furniture.
The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.
Downstairs, there is a large sitting room with old beams, inglenook fireplace for those cold winter nights, which is very cosy! This room has 2 large comfy sofas, TV, Sky, DVD player and radio. Also furnished with antique furniture.
A second sitting room or dining room, which we like to call the quiet room, which you may like to read, or have a good think and soak in those fantastic views! Kitchen is a traditional farmhouse style. A double oven, integrated cooker and hobs, fridge freezer, bread maker, sandwich maker and a toaster. All kitchen utensils, baking tins and kitchen ware.
There is also a utility room with a washing machine and dryer, ironing board and iron and a high chair. Attached to this room is and extra room for storage of bikes, walking gear, wet clothes and bags etc.
Also supplied are picnic bags and flasks for those long summer day walks!
If you are looking for a get away from it all break, then our self atering farmhouse is the place to stay. It is in a peaceful and relazing location where you can enjoy listening to the chatter of the Welsh mountain sheep and the early bird song in a morning. Children love being able to explore the area, there is wildlife to spot, a babbling stream to enjoy and plent of places to play.
There are many attractions in the area that guests of all ages can enjoy, including the Centre for alternative technology, Corris Craft Centre with its own King Arthur's Labyrinth, take a boat ride through the caverns. If you fancy mountain biking tracks, then its Coed y Brenin near Dolgellau for you! Dolgellau also has its own cattle and sheep market every Friday if you would like to see more of how our livestock are sold. Machynlleth has a very busy and bustling street market every Wednesday, great for a few bargains and home produce.
