Gower Accommodation offers self catering accommodation in 4 charming cottages in Mumbles, Swansea, Gower in Glamorgan. We are located at the heart of the Gower Peninsula, giving you unparalleled access to all the attractions that the Gower has to offer. The location of the accommodation is such that you are as close as you can possibly be to the outstanding Three Cliffs Bay, runner-up in the BBC's "Britain's Favourite View" series.
The accommodation is suitable for couples and families alike. We are child friendly and if you find that you need anything extra in order to make your children’s stay easier for you, then you only have to ask. Dogs are also welcome by prior arrangement and the accommodation is situated alongside some great walks.
Gower CottagesThe accommodation consists of 4 self contained cottages (plus the apartment which is listed separately). Three Cliffs, Oxwich and Rhossili Cottages each have 2 bedrooms and will sleep 4 plus a child in a travel cot. Tor Bay Cottage has 1 bedroom so will sleep 2, plus a third person in a put-me-up bed or / and a child in a travel cot. Travel cots can be supplied at no charge - please indicate when booking that one is required.
On the ground floor, each cottage is has a well equipped kitchen area with electric oven, hob, microwave, and fridge with freezer compartment and all the necessary equipment for eating at home. There is a luxury bathroom with power shower (no bath), heated towel rail and electric shaving point also on the ground floor.
The lounge area has under floor heating with stone tiled floor, leather sofa and flat screen TV with Freeview. There is a dining table and chairs which can be rolled into place when needed, then stored in the opening under the stairs. In the main bedroom there is a double bed, fitted wardrobe with chest of drawers and another flat screen TV. There is also room for a travel cot.
In the 2 bedroomed cottages, the second bedroom has one divan single bed with a “high sleeper” with full sized single mattress over it (a higher than average bunk bed), and the room has extra high celings for increased head-room. There is a wardrobe / drawer combination in this bedroom, so plenty of storage space.
Towels are available at an extra charge – £3 per person. Please indicate on booking whether you require towels. Bed linen and utilities are included in the price of your stay. Car parking is available outside the accommodation. There is also a table top ironing board and iron in each property, plus a small area outside at the rear where an airing contraption is fixed to the wall.
Hairdryers are available to borrow – simply collect from Shepherds store on your arrival (returnable deposit required).
We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Food supplies can be ordered in advance so can be ready for you upon arrival. Since we at Shepherds are also a mini Tourist Information Centre, we can assist you plan your visit to make the most of your stay. You only have to ask!
Gower ApartmentSituated alongside the four Gower Accommodation cottages is a lovely apartment. Ideal for larger families or 2 families sharing. Carefully refurbished to a high standard, the accommodation consists of an entrance hallway with coat hooks and large shoe box. There is a cloakroom off the hallway with new shower enclosure for added convenience.
The apartment features an impressive large lounge / dining room with open fireplace, wood-burner and 20ft high ceiling. This room includes 3 large sofa's, TV with DVD player, dining table and 2 large patio windows which open up onto the spacious garden. There is a modern fitted kitchen fitted with all the mod cons, including an integrated fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven, halogen hob, washing machine and freezer. The bathroom has a bath and new electric shower over and a separate WC which has just been refurbished (Dec 2011). We also have a small "Snug room" with sofa and video player, ideal for the children and teenagers (video library included). Bed linen and utilities are included in the price of your stay. Car parking is available outside the accommodation. Towels are not included but can be arranged for a small fee which covers laundry. There are 2 king size bedrooms, each has a king sized bed, plenty of storage space and is light and airy. We also have 1 twin bedroom with 2 single beds.
A spiral staircase in the twin bedroom leads to 1 loft bedroom with 2 single beds and Velux windows. There are also 2 beds on the landing area above the spiral staircase. The sofa in the lounge is a 2 person sofa bed - bedding supplied. Utilities and bed linen included. Pets welcome by arrangement. Parking included.
There is a large patio and lawn with separate “play area” for children, garden has mature shrubs, garden furniture and BBQ.
We also have a spacious apartment situated alongside the cottages which will sleep 10 - 12, ideal for larger families or friends / families sharing. Please check-out the photos and details under "Holiday Apartment".
Groups of golfers, walkers, cyclists are also welcome as the cottages can be block booked and we can arrange for rounds of golf at local courses. Local AreaA 20 minute walk from the accommodation takes you on to Three Cliffs Bay with Oxwich Bay beyond. A 15 minute drive westwards from the accommodation and you are at the tip of the Gower, at the breathtaking Rhossili Bay and Worms Head. Yet the accommodation is located just a short drive from Mumbles and its boutiques and the city of Swansea which has everything a city has to offer, including a new water park in LC2, ten screen cinema, bowling, marina, museums and numerous restaurants and bars.
