Tirmynydd Farm Cottage
Three Crosses, Gower, Swansea
Tirmynydd Farm cottage is an ideal property for an extended family or a group of friends to visit Swansea and the Gower Peninsula, sleeping as it does, up to 9 adults/children and a baby. It is located just 5 miles from Swansea city and within 5 or 10 miles of almost 20 stunning Gower beaches. The cottage offers a comfortable and well appointed base.
About Tirmynydd FarmThe ground floor of the cottage has a lounge seating 9 adults with a variety of soft furnishings, a dining room with seating for 9 (and a high chair if required), a well equipped kitchen and a boot room. There is a bathroom with bath, wash hand basin and “wet room” type shower suitable for some disabled or elderly visitors and a twin bedroom.
Along with the front and back external doors, there is also an extra wide external patio door leading from the dining room on to the patio.
Please note that each of the three external doors has a upvc upstand (approx. 100mm high) which is part of the door frame. This would prevent unassisted access through these doors of a motorised wheelchair.
The kitchen and dining room have recently been renovated with laminate flooring throughout and a full range of kitchen equipment including an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, etc. There is a TV, DVD, VCR and a radio/CD player in the lounge, while the dining room and ground floor bedroom have wall mounted televisions.
The first floor has 3 bedrooms, a toilet with wash hand basin and an airing cupboard. Bedroom 1 has a double and single bed with space for a travel cot if required, bedroom 2 has a double bed and bedroom 3 has two single beds. Each bedroom has a wardrobe and chest of drawers. All beds have duvets and/ or blankets including traditional Welsh tapestry blankets.
Externally there is over half an acre of lawn to both the front and back of the house for all day sunshine and lovely sunsets, weather permitting, plus direct access to the extensive public footpath network of the Gower. There is ample room for children to play and adults to entertain.
There is a double garage, one half of which is for visitor use. It contains a washing machine, tumble drier, sink, additional outdoor furniture and an additional fridge freezer if needed. There is also ample storage for sports equipment, surf boards, golf clubs, bikes, etc. The rotary washing line is just outside the garage.
On the patio we provide a glass topped table with chairs, cushions and a sun umbrella plus a wooden picnic table. There is also a small BBQ unit along with BBQ coals and fire lighters stored in the garage. We can accommodate up to 10 cars on the driveway and on the reinforced area of grass between the garage and the entrance gate.
Visiting Gower & Exploring GlamorganThree Crosses is a sought after location for both locals and visitors alike, offering two local pubs serving reasonably priced pub meals, a play park for young children, a woodland walk and a thriving local soccer team. The village is also home to the Gower Golf Club and is within easy reach of several other Gower golf courses. There are regular bus services into Swansea City Centre, which has the range of shops you would expect of a city; including the largest indoor market in Wales selling lots of delicious local produce, including specialities such as cockles, laver bread and Welsh cakes.
The main sporting arena in Swansea is the Liberty Stadium which is home to Swansea City F.C., The Ospreys regional rugby team and often hosts music concerts during the summer. There is a comprehensive leisure centre ‘LC2’, which has a large fun pool along with other indoor sports facilities. For the serious swimmer there is a 50m Olympic size pool near Swansea University.
The city boasts theatres and cinemas showing the latest plays and films & there is the Dylan Thomas Visitors Centre where you can learn more about Swansea’s famous literary son. There are also museums and other indoor activities if you are unfortunate to have inclement weather. There are many Blue Flag Beaches in the Gower, one of which, is at Rhossili. Rhossili Beach has been voted by TripAdvisor, year on year, as one of the top 10 beaches in the world. You can hire surf boards and other equipment at some of the Gower beaches. 30 mins away, you may choose to visit the wetlands nature reserve in Llanelli, its traffic free routes are safe for both children and adults or walk sections of the Wales Coastal Path. Pembrokeshire, the Brecon Beacons and the capital city, Cardiff, are all between an hour and an hour and a half by car from Three Crosses.
All this makes Three Crosses and Tirmynydd Farm cottage a perfect location to spend some time with family or friends in one of Wales’s most popular holiday destinations for a beach or city break, and for walking, cycling, golfing or simply just relaxing
