Lower Pitton Farmhouse in Gower, Rhossili in Glamorgan, is situated in a beautiful part of Wales, the first designated area of outstanding natural beauty, ensuring a truly memorable holiday experience.
Ground FloorAs you enter the self catering farmhouse there are two living rooms, one on either side of the hallway. The main sitting room has an open, working fireplace which provides a living, focal point when lit. A fireguard is provided for safety. This room can seat ten people with enough floor space for five more on the bean bags provided. The room has a piano, Sky TV (limited stations) and DVD player. You are welcome to bring films or music on a USB stick to play on the large, modern TV.
The second living room at the self catering accommodation is another spacious room and has a wood-burning stove as its focal point. The TV has limited, independent Sky stations; this TV can be connected to most TV game stations etc. You are welcome to bring films or music on a USB stick to play on the TV.
The kitchen is well equipped with double oven, halogen hob, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. The informal, family dining area, seats 14 comfortably, and 16 a little more snugly. A high chair is available on request.
Through the hall from the kitchen, the utility room has another sink and a work surface above the washing machine with a large fridge freezer in the corner. Accessed through the utility room, this bathroom has a toilet, wash hand basin and a large shower cubicle.
The door from the utility room gives access to the back garden. Just outside the back door there is an outside, hot shower which is useful if you are sandy after a day spent on the beach.
Beyond the kitchen there is a good sized conservatory, seating six people. The door from the conservatory opens onto the garden and patio which is perfect for breakfast and evening barbeques.
First FloorUpstairs at the self catering accommodation it is surprisingly spacious with good sized, light and airy bedrooms which benefit from views over farmland.
Bedroom 1 - This, the largest of the bedrooms, is comfortably furnished with a king size bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe, pull-out sofa bed and two chairs. Sleeps up to four.
Bedroom 2 - A good sized room with a double bed, wardrobe and seating. This room overlooks the garden. Sleeps up to two.
Bedroom 3 - Another good sized room with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and two chairs. There is plenty of space for a cot or a child’s bed, either of which I will be happy to provide upon request. Sleeps up to two adults and a child.
Bedroom 4 - A large room with two single beds, bunk beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Sleeps up to four, comfortably. An additional child’s bed is available on request but please note that this will make space a bit restricted.
Bedroom 5 - The smallest of the bedrooms, but plenty of space for two single beds and a wardrobe. Sleeps up to two.
The two good sized upstairs bathrooms are supplied with hand towels, bath mats and towel warmers.
Local AreaThe garden is banked on one side, leading onto a field. This area of the garden is filled with flowering plants in summer. Most of the garden enjoys full sun from about 10 am until around 6pm in summer and there is also a sun terrace at the bottom of the garden, overlooking the apple and pear orchard which is itself awash with flowers in spring and summer.
The back garden which can be accessed via the back door of the farmhouse or through the conservatory, has a patio with a coal barbeque built into the grassy bank. A path leads from here to a lawned area with a clothes line. There is also an outside toilet and storage room to house bikes, surf boards or for use as a dog kennel.
The front garden faces the farm buildings and a field used for car parking. There is a market garden where you can buy fresh seasonal vegetables, herbs and quail, duck and chicken eggs.
