Welsh Hideaways consists of two charming self-catering cottages set high in the hills of Cwmystwyth in Ceredigion, surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of mid-Wales and within easy reach of Aberystwyth. Designed as a peaceful retreat from busy everyday life, the cottages offer comfort, tranquillity and space to unwind. Families are warmly welcomed, including up to two well-behaved dogs per cottage, making it an ideal escape for those who enjoy exploring the outdoors together.
The cottages can be booked individually or combined into one larger property via an internal connecting door. Ty Mari sleeps six guests across one double and two twin rooms, while Penroc sleeps four with one double and one twin room. Both cottages are thoughtfully equipped to provide a cosy stay throughout the year, with features such as a flame-effect electric fire, comfortable king-size beds and inviting living spaces. Penroc also benefits from underfloor heating on request. There are plenty of options for entertainment, including TV, iPlayer, DVDs, an audio system, fast fibre internet and a selection of games.
Guests can make the most of the stunning surroundings, whether enjoying views from Penroc’s balcony or relaxing in Ty Mari’s separate garden room. Evenings can be spent dining outdoors, watching the sunset or taking advantage of the nearby international dark sky area, which offers exceptional stargazing opportunities.
Set on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains, the location is ideal for those seeking adventure, with countless walking routes for all abilities right from the doorstep. The surrounding area also offers a wide range of activities, including a nearby narrow-gauge steam railway, swimming, dolphin spotting, bird watching, mountain biking, fly fishing, horse riding and exploring historic mining sites, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
