Waterside was originally a prominent sheep farm and at the turn of the century, the stone farm buildings were carefully converted into holiday accommodation.

Set within 18 acres of secluded grounds, Waterside is a peaceful rural retreat with the River Bladnoch running along the perimeter, offering excellent fishing opportunities. Nature and wildlife are abundant, making it an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility and a connection with the outdoors.

Ochiltree is the largest of the cottages at Waterside, designed to make self-catering a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Ideal for larger families or groups, it features three ensuite bedrooms, including two family rooms with a double and single bed and a smaller bedroom with a single bed and cot. The cottage also includes a communal area with a fully equipped kitchen, dining space and a TV lounge.

Anne’s Cottage offers spacious and comfortable self-catering accommodation, perfect for couples or small families. After a day of outdoor adventures or sightseeing, you can relax and unwind in the ensuite King bedroom or in the cosy TV lounge, which also features a sofa bed. The cottage includes a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, providing everything needed for a convenient and enjoyable stay.

Merrick Cottage offers spacious and stylish self-catering accommodation. The cottage features a comfortable family bedroom with a double and single bed, a fully equipped kitchen and a bright living and dining area, ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the stunning Scottish countryside. Outside, a private garden provides uninterrupted views of the surrounding natural landscape, allowing guests to unwind and soak in the tranquil beauty of this scenic region.

Maberry Cottage is a charming cottage perfect for couples or a young family. The cottage features a comfortable ensuite double bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and dining area and a cosy living space with a day bed that converts into two singles, offering flexible sleeping arrangements.

Together, the cottages comfortably host up to 18 guests making them perfect for large family groups. They provide a relaxing and scenic base for enjoying Dumfries & Galloway’s stunning countryside and river fishing.

The nearby Galloway Forest has been designated a Gold Tier Dark Sky Park since 2009, renowned for its exceptional stargazing conditions. Waterside offers similarly stunning skies with Bortle 2 darkness, making it an ideal destination for astronomy enthusiasts and astrophotographers seeking clear, uninterrupted views of the night sky. Dumfries and Galloway is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with world-class mountain biking on the 7 Stanes trails at Glentrool and Kirroughtree just a short drive away.
