Summary
Glanllyn Lodge is a historic gatehouse lodge completely renovated and furnished and equipped to the highest of standards, situated in the village of Llanuwchllyn near Wales’ largest natural lake in the Snowdonia National Park, close to the market town of Bala in Gwynedd. Our accommodation has been awarded a 5 star grading by the Wales Tourist Board.
Glanllyn Lodge
The Lodge comprises of one en suite double bedroom, one twin bedroom and one single bedroom. Bed linen and towels supplied. There is a superb luxury bathroom with a whirlpool bath to really unwind and spoil yourself. The comfortable lounge is furnished to a high standard and to enhance your stay, it is equipped with sky TV & a DVD player. The large oak kitchen/diner has a dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave etc. The Lodge is centrally heated and double glazed throughout and outside has an enclosed paved area with garden furniture. A no smoking and no pets policy applies.Occupants of the Lodge have access to 16 acres of parkland bordering the lake which is a touring caravan and camping park during the summer months. There is access for sailing, canoeing and fishing throughout the year. The Aran, Arenig, Berwyn and Cader Idris mountain ranges are all nearby and there is an abundance of local walks to suit everyone.
Local Area
The small market town of Bala is 3 miles away with plenty of small shops, restaurants, pubs, a golf course, cinema and a leisure centre. The area is popular for walkers being close to the Cambrian range of mountains including Aran Benllyn and Aran Fawddwy with Arenig Fawr being some 6 miles to the north west. If the mountains seem like too much hard work then there are alternatives walks and bicycle rides on the quiet lanes around the beautiful Bala Lake. Water sports enthusiasts are well catered for with sailing, canoeing, rowing and windsurfing being available on Bala Lake. If White Water Rafting is your thing then the National White Water Centre (Canolfan Tryweryn) is close by at Fron Goch, with white-water rafting all year round on the steep and rocky mountain river. Anglers are able to buy permits for fishing both the lake and the surrounding rivers with courses available for newcomers to experience the sport of fly fishing.For more information please visit our website.
