The property is enclosed by a stockproof wooden fence with access gates, making it safe for young children or pets to play freely in the garden. A generous tarmac driveway provides parking for over six vehicles and free WiFi is available throughout the house.

One of the property’s most unique features is its access to a small bay where seals can often be seen basking on the rocks and wild otters are known to cross the croft to reach the shore. The area is rich in wildlife and offers excellent opportunities for birdwatching, seal spotting and enjoying nature in its purest form. The croft is also ideal for dog walks, with direct access to the shore via a slipway and panoramic sea views stretching out to the surrounding islands.

The location offers an excellent base for exploring Scalpay and the wider Harris and Lewis area, easily accessible via a toll-free bridge. The famous North Harbour Bistro, just minutes away, is renowned for its award-winning cuisine and fresh local seafood, while grocery and butcher vans visit regularly upon request. The village also features a modern playpark for children and a community hall, making it a welcoming spot for families.

Hamarsay House is pet-friendly by arrangement, with a small additional charge and pets are expected to be kept under control. Cycle hire is available on-site and the surrounding area offers excellent cycling paths, fishing opportunities and access to sandy beaches, including the renowned Luskentyre Beach just 20 minutes away.
