Heron’s Rest is a charming two-bedroom, dog-friendly holiday cottage situated in the small hamlet of Rockford, sitting directly on the banks of the East Lyn River. Open all year round, it offers guests the chance to experience the beauty of the Exmoor landscape through all four seasons.

The cottage offers the convenience of private off-road parking for one vehicle directly next to the property, along with a patio area overlooking the river. When conditions are right and the season permits, you may even catch a glimpse of salmon migrating upstream to spawn, a truly special sight.

Heron’s Rest is fitted with electric radiators throughout, adjustable for personal comfort and included in the rental. All floors are tiled, making it practical and easy to clean for guests bringing dogs. The kitchen is well equipped with a ceramic hob, electric oven, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave and an automatic washer/dryer.

The bathroom includes a shower-bath and heated towel rail, while the lounge area features an LED Smart TV with built-in Freesat and Netflix, a Blu-Ray player, a CD player and unlimited free internet access. The master bedroom offers a king-size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. All bed linen and towels are provided for your stay.

Guests should note that the nearest shops for provisions like milk, bread, or newspapers are located in Lynton, about four miles away. However, there are two nearby pubs, the Rockford Inn and The Staghunters Inn in Brendon (one mile away), which usually serve food at lunchtime and in the evenings.
