Peel Cottage offers charming self catering accommodation in the pretty lakeside village of Glenridding. Our recently restored 19th Century miner’s cottage near Penrith is perfect for a tranquil break in a glorious part of Cumbria.

Accommodation

Our gorgeous cottage dates from the 1890s and been beautifully renovated to provide comfortable accommodation for up to 4 people. The cottage is over 3 levels and comes with a range of facilities to suit all your needs.

On the ground floor is a cosy lounge with a 2 x 2 seater leather settee, a toasty log burner, flat-screen TV and DVD player. Rustle up some delicious food in the well-equipped kitchen which has an oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge freezer etc. Enjoy some lovely food around the dining table which seats 4. A useful utility room comes with a washing machine, tumble drier, microwave, storage for coats, boots, etc.

On the first floor is an attractive bedroom with a king-size bed, TV and DVD player. The bathroom has a shower, WC and washbasin. On the second floor is a twin room with en suite, including a bath with shower mixer, WC and wash basin. Linen and towels are provided.

Outside there is a delightful southwest-facing garden with a patio area including garden furniture, perfect for al fresco dining whilst savouring the outstanding countryside views.

Visiting Glenridding & Exploring Cumbria

We are in the ideal location for discovering all that the area has to offer. On our doorstep, there are scenic walks on the surrounding fells, including the majestic Helvellyn. You can also visit famous Ullswater and enjoy a magical boat ride on the water. Near the cottage, there are a variety of local amenities, including shops, tourist information centres and two local village pubs. Great attractions to visit include:
