Old Dairy Cottage provides superb self catering accommodation in Kilmelford, at the head of Loch Melfort. We are only 15 miles south of Oban and ideal for an idyllic break in Argyll.

Accommodation

Our wonderful cottage sleeps 2 and is perfect for a romantic getaway in a magical location. You can enjoy glorious hill and loch views, with seals, otters and porpoises regularly spotted in the waters of the loch. We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and from the top of the Melfort Hills, you can savour some of the most stunning views over the Sound of Jura, Firth of Lorn and surrounding islands.

On the first floor, there is a cosy open plan living/dining room. The well-equipped kitchen comes with a full-size electric cooker, fridge with icebox, washing machine and a microwave. You can unwind in the cosy living area which has a flat-screen TV, coal-effect electric stove and storage heater. The balcony is the perfect place for a glass of wine whilst admiring the spectacular views of Loch Melfort and Melfort Hills.

The bedroom is downstairs and comes with a comfortable double bed. A shower room has an electric shower, WC, washbasin and heated towel rail.

Visiting Kilmelford & Exploring Argyll

The area is great for walking, birdwatching, water activities and touring the west coast. The nearby holiday resort of Oban offers regular ferry services to the islands of Mull, Iona, Lismore, Staffa and Islay. Fly fishing is available in the local lochs and amazing wildlife safaris on land and water are available. Lots of gorgeous gardens are accessible by car, including National Trust Gardens at Arduaine and Crarae. Further attractions to visit include:
