Summary

The Linhay offers fantastic self catering accommodation at Lower Chilverton. Our gorgeous, 17th Century barn conversion near Coldridge is nestled in a wonderful countryside position. We are on the northern edge of Dartmoor and within easy reach of both the north and south Devon coasts.

Accommodation

Our fabulous barn conversions have been furnished to a high standard and maintain many original features whilst offering modern accommodation. The majestic vaulted ceiling upstairs still includes the original 17th Century beams.

The accommodation has a split level and glass front open plan area which takes advantage of the stunning countryside views and wildlife. The living area has Freeview TV, a DVD player, a selection of books and films and a sofa bed. A spacious kitchen and dining area includes a cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The barn stays warm through electric heating and a calor gas log fire for colder nights.

Two ground-floor bedrooms are available: a double with a king-size bed and a superking/twin room. The double room has doors that open onto a patio overlooking the fields and fishponds. The second bedroom enjoys delightful views over the fields and ponds. Both rooms share a modern bathroom with a power shower over the bath and WC.

Outside there is a patio with a table, chairs and a gas BBQ. A lovely place for al fresco dining in the early evening sun. The barn is surrounded by a garden with ponds and has lots of space to stroll around and take in the beautiful setting.

Visiting Lower Chilverton & Exploring Devon

We are in a brilliant location for walking, visiting local villages and savouring local Devonshire produce. The barn is close to Exmoor and there is swimming, golf, fishing and several National Trust properties nearby. Both Barnstaple and the city of Exeter are accessible by car. In Exeter, you can visit its magnificent cathedral or stroll around the award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery. The fabulous quayside is home to interesting shops, restaurants and activities. Further attractions to visit include:
