The Old School House is in a beautiful part of South Yorkshire in the pretty hamlet of Carlecotes. For those who want a relaxing break away, we are truly the ideal location. We are a comfortable and relaxing retreat on the northern edge of the Peak District National Park and just a short drive from Penistone & Sheffield.

Accommodation

Our cosy holiday home for a couple or small family. It has been thoughtfully appointed to ensure it includes everything you need for an enjoyable break away. Cottage amenities include:

Visiting Carlecotes & Exploring South Yorkshire

We are perfect for exploring Carlecotes, a peaceful hamlet to the north of the Park District National. We are superbly located with easy access to the Trans Pennine Trail for walking and cycling. The nearest towns are Holmfirth and Penistone, a 10-minute drive away – the latter is also on the Trans Pennine Trail. Attractions to visit include:

Cannon Hall Farm.
Wentworth Woodhouse.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Botanical Gardens.
Chatsworth House.
