Summary

Bach y Graig offers comfortable and cosy self catering holiday accommodation in the wing of a 16th Century farmhouse in the beautiful Vale of Clwy. Our cottage is situated in 200 acres of fertile grassland with 40 acres of medieval historic woodland on a welsh family working farm. We are only a short drive from St Asaph where there are a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants.

Accommodation

Our cottage can sleep up to 6 people and is a relaxing place for a family or group of friends to relax and unwind.

The cosy oak panelled lounge has a wood burner and an initial supply of logs included in the rent. The farmhouse has full central heating and a TV/ Freeview/DVD/CD player and radio. A fully equipped farmhouse kitchen comes with microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, cooker, automatic washing machine, Cot & high chair available.

The cottage has 3 large bedrooms: 1 twin, 1 double and 1 king size curtained four poster bed. All linen and towels are included in the rent. Beds are made up ready for your arrival.

This refurbished traditional bathroom has modern facilities. This includes an original cast iron claw feet bath. Separate shower cubicle, WC, wash basin and shaver point are also available.

Visiting Tremeirchion & Exploring Denbighshire

Plenty of woodland walks surrounding the cottage that have a wealth of rare plants and wild flowers. Several earth banks were constructed during this period to both denote a boundary and preserve the covert, herbage and deer within. They would have been topped by a planted hedge or wooden pale fence, materials for the latter being obtained from the woods themselves.

The long documented history of the woodlands at Bach y Graigrsuggests may be indirectly derived from the primeval woodland which once covered much of Wales. Such continuity makes the woods of high value for nature conservation. Over 90 species of plant have been recorded at Bachygraig including the Broadleaved Helleborine (a member of the orchid family) and there are 21 species of tree and shrub alone. The area is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and those who enjoy spending time in the great outdoors.
