Monnington House, Garden Cottage and The Cider Mill offer fantastic and very comfortable self catering accommodation in the hamlet of Monnington on Wye. We offer understated luxury in all 3 properties and have been graded 5 star by Visit England plus The Cider Mill has been graded 5 star Gold. Each property has a large garden, shared use of the playing field and also of the games room and table tennis room. The properties can either be booked together for a large family booking or booked individually for small family groups.

Monnington House – Sleeps 12 (6 db bedrooms 6 bathrooms)

Our beautiful property is perfect for large groups or families looking for somewhere special to stay. The site boasts acres of cider orchards and is in a tranquil position.

The kitchen is large and full equipped. It has a 4 door AGA, 2 electric ovens, 2 dishwashers, a large American style fridge freezer in the kitchen plus 2 additional fridge freezers in the property. The dining area seats 12 - 18 people and if you are booking all 3 properties the dining area can accommodate up to 24 by prior arrangement. Outside there is also a garden table on the south facing terrace. reception rooms come with wood burners, TVs, comfy sofas and handmade curtains. The house has an incredible sociable layout yet there is plenty of space to retreat to. Downstairs there is a cloakroom, larder for food storage, laundry and boot room.

The property has 6 spacious bedrooms and 6 bathrooms offering luxury and privacy. The beds are high specification and the linen is luxurious. The rooms come with either super king, large super king or large twin beds. No one should feel short changed by their allocation of room. Download a floor plan from our website. Guests have use of the games room with pool table and table football, a rustic table tennis room and a playing field with 2 football goals.

Garden Cottage – Sleeps 6 (3 db bedrooms and 3 bathrooms)

This charming cottage sleeps up to 6 people and is ideal for smaller groups. On the ground floor there is a lovely sitting/dining room which opens onto a large terrace with garden table and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped and comes with a cooker, dishwasher and fridge freezer. A ground floor en suite bedroom is available. It is perfect for those with restricted mobility.

On the first floor are two bedrooms. Bedroom two has a balcony, super king bed and use of a separate shower room. Bedroom 3 has en suite facilities and boasts views over the courtyard.

The Cider Mill – Sleeps 6 (3 db bedrooms and 3 bathrooms)

A wonderful open plan kitchen/sitting room offers a spacious and open feel. French doors open onto a lovely garden. There are a pair of sofas surrounding the faux fireplace and an elegant dining table sits 8. The kitchen comes equipped with an electric hob and oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher.

Three en suite bedrooms are available. Bedroom 1 comes with a super king zip and link bed and en suite facilities. Bedroom 2 also has a super king zip and link bed with en suite facilities. Leading from the sitting rooms is bedroom 3, a tranquil en suite room with a super king zip and link bed which enjoys views over the garden.

All 3 properties have use of games room, table tennis room and playing field.

Visiting Monnington on Wye & Exploring Herefordshire

The properties are situated on the Wye Valley Walk (OS Explorer map on site) and close to 2 cider cycling routes (bike shed and map on site). There is a pub within 16 minutes’ walk which provides good local food to a set budget. Activities available within 20 minutes include golf, cycling, canoeing, swimming, quad biking, mountain biking, clay pigeon shooting. You can visit Hay-on-Wye and we are only 4 miles from National Trust properties, perfect for gardeners looking to see beautifully maintained gardens. Lots of excellent attractions are nearby:
