Shepherd's Hut at The Quirky Quarry offers magical accommodation just 1 mile outside of the pretty town of Middleton-in-Teesdale. We are based in a stunning countryside setting in Durham, perfect for an idyllic rural retreat.
AccommodationOur charming cottage sleeps up to 2 people and is nestled in our walled garden area. You can savour incredible views across the valley, ideal for a romantic getaway.
Inside the hut is a comfy double bed, electric shower, flush toilet, sink, fridge, heater and electric kettle. Bedding and towels are provided along with extra blankets. We also supply as hamper containing crockery, cutlery, napkins, condiments and glasses.
We have a designated BBQ area and all guests receive a complimentary pack of logs, kindling, charcoal and firelighters on arrival.

Visiting Middleton-in-Teesdale & Exploring CumbriaYou can visit lots of superb attractions in the local area. Bowes Castle houses the ruins of Henry II’s tower and dates to the 12th Century. Barnard Castle enjoys glorious views of the Tees Gorge and Egglestone Abbey houses a small monastery above the bend in the River Tees. Lots of brilliant attractions are in the local area:
