The Flat in Glencaple, Caerlaverock in Dumfries & Galloway, provides superb accommodation in a 19th Century building. Recently modernised to a wonderful standard, we will prove to be a memorable holiday experience.

Accommodation

Our charming self catering holiday home is perfect for a romantic break away. Many years ago it was converted into 2 flats and an extension was built, giving the property a quirky atmosphere. There is a lovely sitting room with comfy sofa to relax on, an easy chair and dining table and chairs. There’s also a Morso multi fuel stove to keep you warm and toasty and a TV/DVD player. The fully equipped kitchen comes with a range of excellent appliances: electric hob and stove, microwave oven, washing machine, fridge, 2 slice toaster and kettle. Small freezer in the garden shed. We have 1 spacious double bedroom with easy chair and beside radio and clock. You can also enjoy using the luxurious walk in shower in the bathroom which includes wash hand basin and toilet.

The pretty, small south facing garden with garden furniture is perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee or a spot of al fresco dining in the evening.

Flat is on one level so accessible to those with limited mobility. However, there are steps to the back garden. Sadly we are not wheelchair or wide walker accessible due to door width and layout of bathroom.

Electricity and one basket of logs are included in the rental. Logs and coal are available locally.

Visiting Caerlaverock & Exploring Dumfries & Galloway

The Flat is situated on the Burns and Solway Coast Heritage Trail and only 4 miles from the Wildfowl and Wetlands Reserve at Caerlaverock – a 40 minute drive from the RSPB Reserve at Mersehead. In Winter flocks of Barnacles fly past your window morning and evening and other geese, waders and ducks can be seen on the river. Otters are often spotted nearby and in summertime porpoises and seals have been seen in the river. This area is a nature lover's paradise. Also well placed for gentle walking, cycling, fishing, sightseeing and relaxing. Lovely beaches are only half an hour's drive away and Caerlaverock Castle is just up the road.
