This lovely 17th Century cottage offers self catering accommodation in Abbotsbury for up to four people. A welcome pack vegetarian/continental breakfast is provided which can be adapted to suit individual guests needs. The cottage is perfect for a couple, walkers or a family holiday. Linen, towels and basic household items are included.
AccommodationThe cottage has been thoughtfully renovated and is immediately welcoming.
The open plan lounge/diner has a full size double bed/settee with sprung mattress. There is a TV with DVD, radio and free WI -FI. Children’s' toys/games and a small library of books on local history, places of interest, walks and natural history are also provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped. It is quarry tiled throughout and the red brick feature fireplace, oak beams, window seat and open plan pine staircase add to its charm.
The bedroom has two single beds with very comfortable mattresses ensuring a good night’s sleep. Stripped pine floors and metal bed heads complete the cottagey feel. The bathroom has a bath, wash hand basin and WC. The bath has a mixer tap with hand held shower. The tiles are in the style of William Morris.
Water is heated by an electric water heater(electricity is charged according to the units used at the end of your stay). The beautiful terraced garden overlooks St Catherine's Chapel and offers wonderful views and seclusion. There is a private off road parking bay.
We can provide a travel cot and high chair (please bring your own cot bedding).
Visiting Abbotsbury & Exploring DorsetThe village is a short walk away. Handy for a paper or that forgotten pint of milk. It has a general store with post office and AGM facility, a farm shop selling local produce, two public houses which offer good food, tearooms, a fishing tackle and bait shop, and a range of independent shops and galleries. It also boasts a children’s' playground complete with zip wire.
Abbotsbury is well known for it's Tropical Gardens, Swannery and Childrens' farm housed in and around the Old Abbey Tithe Barn. It overlooks Chesil Beach now awarded World Heritage status as the Jurassic Coast. Weymouth, Bridport and Dorchester are all nine miles away. The X53 bus runs along the coast.
There is plenty to do both in Abbotsbury and the surrounding area. Stunning walks in all directions (including well known favourites such as the Jurassic Coast and Macmillan Way),good fishing off Chesil Beach, golf, and boat trips. A day on the beach keeps the kids happy or just stop, relax with a glass of wine and look at the stars again.
