Set in the heart of the Devon countryside and within 20 minutes of the ancient cathedral city of Exeter, Higher Thornwood is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding countryside, towns, villages and beaches.

Accommodation

Our gorgeous Grade II Listed 16th Century cottage is set in two acres of beautiful grounds, perfect for a tranquil getaway. The cottage is elegantly furnished and comes with a range of wonderful features: an inglenook fireplace, beamed ceilings, latched doorways and a turret staircase.

Downstairs there is a well-equipped kitchen for home-cooking and an elegant dining room. Further seating for dining is available in the kitchen. Unwind in the delightful living area after a busy day sightseeing.

In total, three are 4 bedrooms: two double rooms and two twin rooms. One twin can be made into a double if needed. Upstairs there are 3 attractive bedrooms and a shared bathroom with a shower. A further double bedroom and bathroom with a bath and shower is downstairs.

Outside there is a fabulous hot tub to soak your troubles away in whilst savouring the outstanding countryside views. There is also a games room and boules pit available.

Visiting Tedburn St Mary & Exploring Devon

There are ten golf courses within a 40-minute radius, with tennis and coarse fishing nearby. Within walking distance, there are two good local food pubs. The area has many National Trust properties and gardens, castles, ruins and old railways. Seek out the vineyards, cheese making, pottery and crystal glass production, plus much more. Great attractions to visit include:

Exeter Cathedral.
Killerton House.
Pebblebed Vineyard.
Woodbury Castle.
Clyston Mill.
