Cowclose Barn is situated on the eastern edge of The Peak District National Park, Derbyshire and is near Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall, Bolsover Castle, Renishaw Hall, Chesterfield and Sheffield. The beautiful Linacre Valley and reservoirs are just across the field. This is a peaceful but not remote location. It is very near The Gate Inn which offers local beers and excellent food served by friendly staff.
Our 2 comfortable and spacious stone cottages have original features, such as oak beams and stone buttresses which give the cottages their character. There is a large garden with a patio and play area for young children.
The Robins Holiday Cottage(2-4 guests)
(Weekly Rates £300-£400) Short breaks available.
The Robins is a cosy retreat for couples or small families.
The kitchen has:
Full sized gas cooker.
Crockery, cutlery and a good supply of cooking equipment and utensils .
(Separate laundry facilities are available free of charge).
The lounge/diner has an electric stove, flat screen TV, DVD player, radio, CD player, sofa bed, easy chair and a pine dining table with 4 chairs.
There is a large downstairs bathroom with a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail.
Upstairs there is a large bedroom with king size bed, dressing table, bedside table, drawers and a built in wardrobe. There is space for a guest bed and/or travel cot (please request when booking).
The Swallows Holiday Cottage(5 guests in 3 bedrooms)

The Swallows is a comfortable and spacious cottage, suitable for families and friends.
The kitchen has:
Full size gas cooker.
Crockery, cutlery and a good supply of cooking equipment and utensils.
The cosy lounge has oak beams, an electric stove, a flat screen TV, DVD player, radio, CD player, settee, easy chairs and a nest of tables.
There is a large dining room with table and chairs.
There is a single bedroom (no bathroom) downstairs.
Upstairs there is a double en suite bedroom and a twin en suite bedroom. The stairs and landing separate the bedrooms offering extra privacy.
Prices for both cottages include
Full gas central heating and electricity.
Own parking area.
Linen, bedding, towels.
Toiletries and cleaning materials (not soap powder).
Travel cot, high chair (must be booked, £10 charge for bedding if required).
Secure storage for bikes, quad bikes etc.(must be booked).

There are many stately homes and gardens including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall, Bolsover Castle and Renishaw Hall and Garden that are all well worth a visit. Donít forget to visit some of our beautiful small villages and see the Well Dressings. Popular places nearby include Bakewell, Eyam, Matlock, Buxton, Chesterfield and Derby. Sheffield offers a range of galleries, shops, theatres and restaurants and is a great day out.
