The Fringe is one of the largest in England and booking for this opens in early June.

The season of Well Dressings is upon us. These Peak District festivals go back to ancient times, when the good supplies of fresh water were celebrated every year. Most weekends through the summer a village will be decorating its wells with pictures made of fresh petals and seeds pressed into soft clay. They are all great achievements and some veritable works of art. One of the first is always Tissington, a picture-postcard estate village very close to us, which always celebrates on Ascension Day. This year it is on May 4 - 20. Another notable one nearby is Youlgreave, later in the season
