Hall Farm cottages offers self catering accommodation in three properties. The cottages are on 2 acres of land surrounded by stunning countryside on the outskirts of Wetton village. The tranquil village is just a short car journey from the market town of Ashbourne in Derbyshire. The cottages are in the ideal spot for walking or cycling as you are in the heart of the Peak District National Park.
AccommodationEach cottage provides comfortable accommodation sleeping up to 12 people in total. Grindon is a single storey cottage sleeping up to 3 people. Thors and Manifold are semi detached and sleep 5 and 4 respectively.
The cottages are well equipped with:
Full size cooker, fridge, microwave, TV, DVD player, radio/CD player and hair dryer.
Towels and bed linen are provided.
All electricity included.
Cot and high chair are available on request.
Facilities include an indoor games room with table tennis, play stations, pool table, table football, games, books, videos and children’s toys. Outside there is a large playing area for badminton, football and a patio with BBQ. We have ample off-road parking and a dry secure bike store.
Guests use a shared utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, a stocked fridge freezer and a selection of emergency provisions e.g. local eggs, milk, bread.
Visiting Wetton & Exploring DerbyshireThe cottages are just on the edge of the village of Wetton. Wetton is a pretty stone built Staffordshire Moorlands village nestled at the foot of the Wetton Hills. Wetton has 3 small working farms, a good local pub serving a selection of beers and good pub food and a 14th Century church with its six bells founded in six different Centuries. The Manifold Valley is one of the most beautiful areas of the Peak District. The deep valley is carved through limestone rock and is full of dramatic scenery, with cliffs, caves and woods. Many places to explore are nearby:
Explore Ilam Park.
Cycle through the Tissington Trail.
Visit Thorpe Cloud.
Visit The Old Manor.
We are within easy reach are the towns of Buxton (with its Opera House and annual Festival), Bakewell (with a weekly livestock market), Matlock (which has a range of visitor attractions, including a theme park) and Ashbourne and Leek (which have weekly outdoor markets ). Alton Towers is a must for all ages. If you are interested in history or stately homes then you will want to visit Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Sudbury Hall, Eyam (the Plague Village) and Eyam Hall.
There are lots of fabulous walking and you can walk from your door on the many and varied footpaths to explore the beautiful countryside surrounding the cottages. Cycling is also a popular activity, with several cycle tracks on former railways.
