New Ing Lodge

Summary

New Ing Lodge is open for whole house hire all year. It is ideal for large groups interested in walking, cycling, outdoor activities or for families simply looking for a peaceful retreat. We are on the edge of the Eastern Fells of the edge of the Lake District and the Eden Valley. The whole house hire includes the exclusive use of the building and grounds with everything you may need for your stay in Cumbria.

Accommodation

New Ing Lodge accommodates up to 30 people in 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, the room layout being the following:

2 x doubles rooms with private bathrooms.
2 x double en suites.
2 x triple en suites.
2 x family en suite.
2 x 4 bedded dormitory rooms.

In addition to ten guest bedrooms, there is a comfortable living room with a wood burning stove, a dining room which can comfortably sit 24, and a large kitchen with a 5-ring gas hob and plenty of fridge space. When you take the exclusive use of New Ing Lodge, you can have access to our bar, which we can stock for you, if required, with hand-pulled local real ales and/or pilsner lager. We also offer catering options for groups who stay with us. Why not treat yourself to our filling cooked breakfast or one of our delicious evening meals?

We are open for holiday let throughout the year and serviced B&B and dorm accommodation from March to October.

Location

We are situated in the stunning Eden Valley on Wainwright's Coast to Coast route. We are also situated very close to the Howgill fells and the North Pennines, which makes New Ing Lodge ideal for those of you with a sense of adventure or for those of you who simply like to take in the beautiful scenery. The historic ruins of Shap Abbey are only a 20-minute easy walk from the door; the stonework from the abbey has been used in many of the local building including New Ing Lodge. The medieval Keld Chapel near Shap, owned by the National Trust, is one of their more remote religious sites. It is kept locked at all times but the key is available from the village. There is a short footpath that links the chapel and the abbey and makes for a lovely short and accessible walk for everyone from New Ing Lodge. There is fishing and golf courses nearby.
