Birchbank Cottages is situated on a Lakeland farm, set high on the fells between Coniston Water and the Duddon Estuary. From the many bridleways and footpaths that cross the farm and surrounding hills, you can enjoy stunning views of Coniston Old Man, the Furness fells and the Duddon Estuary.
The cottage provides self-catering accommodation for up to four people plus a baby.
Upstairs there is a double bedroom with a washbasin and fell views, along with a twin bedroom. Both rooms have panel heaters. The bathroom is on the ground floor and includes a bath with shower over, washbasin, toilet and heated towel rail.
The lounge, kitchen and dining area is comfortably furnished and equipped with a TV, DVD player, dishwasher and microwave. Heating is provided by electric storage heaters and an electric wood-burning effect stove. There are also drying facilities for outdoor clothes and a shared laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The water supply comes from a natural spring which is regularly tested.
A cot, highchair and stairgate are available for young children. Bed linen and towels are provided, though guests are asked to bring their own linen for the cot. Outside, there is parking for two cars and secure cycle storage.
The area is ideal for walking, cycling and birdwatching. The Cumbria Way long-distance footpath, running from Ulverston to Carlisle, passes just half a mile away.
