Summary

Slievemoyle Cottages are renovated farm cottages on the slopes of Slievemoyle near Strangford.

We now have 5 cottages : Rose, Mill, Stable and Blackthorn are located together, while Ringcladdy Cottage is 2 miles away and closer to the coast.

Rose, Mill and Stable sleep 4 to 5 each, Blackthorn sleeps up to 8 and Ringcladdy sleeps up to 9.

All cottages are fully equipped with every modern appliance.

The cottages have been awarded the prestigious 4 Star award by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.

Rose Cottage

Two bedrooms, 1 double with ensuite and one with bunk beds. Living room with traditional fireplace with crook and crane, colour TV with DVD player. A fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine/tumble drier, microwave. Central heating. Bath and shower.

With a private garden and spectacular panoramic views over this area of outstanding beauty the cottage provides the ideal location to relax and unwind.

Mill Cottage

This is an old mill converted to a very comfortable place to stay. Enjoy walks on the farm or relax in the spacious Mill Cottage garden. Mill Cottage has two large bedrooms with super king size beds or two single sized beds in each. Living room / kitchen with wood burning stove. Fully equiped kitchen with oven, fridge, washing machine/tumble drier and microwave. Central heating. Bath and shower.

Blackthorn Cottage

The largest and most spacious of the cottages at Slievemoyle, Blackthorn Cottage will sleep 6-8 people very comfortably. It features one double bedroom with en suite shower room and one family suite (a double bedroom with en suite bathroom and pine staircase leading to a loft with two single beds). The open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting area in Blackthorn is well-equipped with a dishwasher, a stone-faced fireplace with a wood-burning stove, comfortable sofas and pine furniture. Double doors open onto an outside paved patio which enjoys an outstanding panoramic view across the Co. Down countryside to the Irish sea and the Isle of Man.

Stable Cottage

Stable Cottage is very similar in layout and character to Mill Cottage, with original features, exposed stone and reclaimed tiled and wooden flooring. It was formerly a stable and cart house, has one double bedroom and one with either 3 single beds or one single and one super king bed, a bathroom with shower over bath and an open plan fully-equipped kitchen/dining/sitting room with double doors leading to a patio which has a glimpse of the sea.

Ringcladdy Cottage

Ringcladdy Cottage is situated in a former farmyard and was once a cattle byre. This cottage also retains some of its original features and has been restored with reclaimed slates, tiles and wooden flooring. It will sleep up to 9 people in two bedrooms which have sleeping lofts accessed by ladders( more suitable for children due to low ceiling). One bedroom has an en suite shower room and there is also a family bathroom, with shower over bath. The open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room has a vaulted ceiling and a wood-burning stove. Double doors open from this room onto a paved patio with sheltered courtyard area. There is also a wet weather games/laundry room off the courtyard. The beach at Kilclief is just over a mile away and can be reached by road or walking track across the fields.

General Information

Prices include the use of bed linen, towels, BBQ facilities, garden, garden furniture, electricity and central heating. Firewood, and coal available at extra cost. Baby cot available on request. The cottages have a fully equipped kitchen, traditional fireplace with crook and crane(Rose Cottage), washing machine, drier, fridge, central heating, colour TV/DVD player, bath and shower. Way-marked nature trails around the farm, maps are provided.

Rates: Ranging from £390 to £840 depending on the cottage and length of stay.
E.g a 3 night stay in a 2 bedroomed cottage the low season will cost £390 or a 7 night stay in high season in one of our largest cottages sleeping 8 will cost £840.
