The Old Orchard offers fantastic self catering accommodation in Dundonald, based on the edge of Belfast. We are located in a gorgeous rural setting, perfect for an idyllic getaway in County Down.

Accommodation

Our cottage is in a countryside setting and sleeps up to 6 people, offering views over Castlereagh and Craigantlet Hills and beyond to Scrabo Tower. The property is accessible for the elderly and people with disabilities, with a ramp leading from the courtyard to the double front doors. All doors are wheelchair & walking frame accessible, including the light switches, door handles & appliance handles. A welcome pack is provided.

On the first floor is a cosy sitting room with a television, DVD player and wood burning stove. Downstairs there is a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven/hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microweb. The utility area houses the clothes washer/dryer and a dining room has seating for 6.

In total, there are 3 bedrooms. Downstairs there is a double en suite room with wide doors and a wet room. Upstairs there is 1 twin and 1 double room. The en suites include thermostatic showers. All linen and towels are provided.

Outside we have a private and fenced patio area with BBQ facilities for al fresco dining over a glass or two. A garden gate leads to fields. The enclosed garden/patio is dog friendly. Please contact for use of a kennel and run.

Visiting Dundonald & Exploring County Down

We are ideally placed for exploring Belfast, home to Queen's University Belfast, The City Hall, the Waterfront Hall and the newly renovated Albert Clock. Visit Castle Espie Wetland Centre which has Ireland’s largest selection of ducks, geese and swans. You can also enjoy the nature trails and feed the animals at Streamvale Open Farm. Attractions to visit include:

The Ark Farm.
The Odyssey.
The Somme Heritage Centre.
Castle Ward.
