The Old Goathouse near St. Agnes in Cornwall, offers wonderful self catering accommodation in a glorious location. The private and tranquil retreat is only a short walk away from St. Agnes and Trevellas Cove, making us the perfect holiday destination.
AccommodationOur superb holiday accommodation is perfect for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. The holiday home sleeps up to 2 people on a charming mezzanine floor. A sturdy wooden staircase reaches the sleeping platform and they are connected to downstairs by a ship pulley system, allowing you to hoist them high during the daytime if you fancy more space downstairs. The bed a full sized double bed and from here you can admire the treetop view down to the valley. There is also a spacious bathroom which a tiled wet room with oversized shower. We provide large fluffy towels, bathrobes and Dr Bronners organic lotions.
The main area is a lovely open plan sitting/kitchen/dining area. The cosy sitting area has a large log burning stove complete with a warming oven. A full log basket is available on arrival. We have also up cycled and transformed bookshelves, tables and cupboards to ensure every piece has been tailor made to fit the space perfectly. Ian Mankin striped fabric, lashings of Farrow & Ball and Nina Campbell wallpaper work fabulously to give the charming barn conversion a contemporary, luxury feel whilst maintaining its original character. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a range of excellent appliances: gas hob, grill and oven, toaster and kettle ready to plunge your morning coffee. We have also re-sized an oak dining table to seat 2 comfortably.
Outside is a beautiful wooden covered deck area with table and chairs made from up cycled cable drums. This is the perfect place for a spot of al fresco dining. A separate wildflower area with a fire pit/BBQ is surrounded by wooden seats angled perfectly for stargazing. The holiday home is also surrounded by gorgeous fruit trees, wildflower garden and herbs, making us an idyllic destination and completely secluded.
Local AreaWe are the ideal base from which to explore the local area. You can follow the path from The Old Goathouse around the cliffs to St. Agnes and continue along the South West coast path, towards the National Trust Beach at Chapel Porth, enjoying spectacular sea and cliff top views. Why not stop at the Driftwood Spars, a 16th Century, award winning traditional pub and micro brewery for lunch.
Short breaks are available for a minimum of 3 nights.
St. Agnes is now very much on the map as one of the North Cornish hotspots. Only 6 miles from Truro and a 30 minute drive from Newquay Airport. The village is well stocked with fabulous shops, bakers, greengrocers, traditional butchers, a pharmacy, a bank as well as great pubs and excellent restaurants. The village now boasts a brace of fish and chip shops to boot.
