About Palm Cottage
We can't guarantee the weather in Cornwall, but we do promise a happy holiday in our most comfortable home with a welcome tray on your arrival. From the imposing solid front door to the tiled floor vestibule you enter the beamed, open plan, carpeted living area with its original cob walls. This room invites relaxation with its leather sofa, cosy chairs, open fireplace, window seats, several table lamps, board games, and flat screen TV with DVD player. The kitchen is clean and modern, with every piece of equipment you may need during your stay. So whether you are enjoying Cornish pasties or cooking lobster, we are sure that you will find everything you need.
The holiday cottage can sleep up to 6 people and all linen is provided. There is a large twin bedded room, with a spacious built in cupboard, which overlooks the garden. To the left off the landing is the very pretty "Beatrix Potter" smaller twin bedded room, ideal for children and overlooks the palm tree and the village. At the other end of the landing is the master double bedroom which is a decent size and equally tasteful. There are a couple of built in wardrobes and again is at the front of the house. Our large family have ensured that all five beds are very comfortable and have beautiful, freshly laundered linen, to hopefully facilitate a good night's sleep.
Our holiday accommodation has a private garden at the back of the property which is well tended, mature and overlooks the surrounding farmland. The garden is child friendly, safely enclosed but large and interesting enough to keep them occupied. For the adults, too, it's ideal for relaxing, sunbathing and for eating al fresco; a brick BBQ is just waiting for some smouldering charcoal and freshly caught mackerel!
Stunningly beautiful at any time of the year, the Lizard peninsula is quite unique. Almost surrounded by the sea, it stands alone, in a very real sense from the rest of the county. It is not a place to drive through but a journey's end, a destination. The air is crisp, clear and unpolluted and boasts one of the warmest climates in the UK. The whole area is splendid for walking, especially along the coastal footpath, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and from where one can view the many sea birds, including, if you're lucky, the chough, at Lizard Point, on the tip of the peninsula. There are many attractions and places of interest within comfortable driving distance of our holiday home included:
The National Seal Sanctuary.
The Minnack Theatre.
Gunwalloe Church Cove.
Flambards Theme Park.
