Duddings Country Cottages offer self catering accommodation just outside the village of Timberscombe near the coastal town of Minehead in Somerset. Set in a stunning unspoiled location, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside, Duddings offers all the ingredients for a memorable holiday in the beautiful Exmoor National Park.

The West Wing - Sleeps 12 – 6 bedrooms

The West Wing forms the greater part of a traditionally built thatched Devon longhouse. Dating back to the 16th Century and Grade II listed, the interior has been tastefully restored and offers a wealth of period features. It includes exposed beams and inglenook fireplaces.

Approached through a private, walled patio garden, the entrance porch leads to the main hallway with payphone. The ground floor has a well fitted kitchen with double oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher etc. The oak floored lounge has a massive inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove, TV (40" Sony Bravia TV with Freesat HD, DVD Player, Amazon Echo with unlimited music), and comfortable seating for 16. The dining room has an inglenook and polished hardwood floor, offering a perfect setting for that special celebration meal (seats up to 16).

Leading off the hallway is a second sitting room or ‘snug’ & a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, sink & oil fired combi boiler plus a 4th loo. A twin bedded room is on the ground floor with an en suite shower room. On the first floor there are five bedrooms: 2 doubles and 3 twins, together with a bathroom (with bath & shower) and a further shower room.

The 12 Cottages - Sleep 2-16

The cottages are mostly grouped around a courtyard in a lovely setting with views of the wooded hills and scattered fields. They have been beautifully converted from old stone barns and stables. The ancient beams and stone walls have been retained and enhanced by the provision of comfortable and stylish furniture, and excellent decorations. All the cottages are equipped to the highest standards, with LCD TVs, DVD’s, microwaves, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards.

Horner + Cleeve - sleeps 2 each

Cosy one bedroomed apartments with kitchen/dining/living room and shower room. Cleeve (ground floor) has a twin bedroom, whilst Horner (first floor) has a double bedroom and is reached by an outside staircase. Equipped with own washer/dryers.

Bilbrook - sleeps 3

Lovely two bedroomed apartment with kitchen/dining/living room, double & single bedrooms and shower room reached via an outside staircase. Equipped with own washer/dryer & dishwasher.

Selworthy + Bossington - sleeps 4 in each

Each sleeps four in two bedrooms. A Kitchen/dining/living room is downstairs. Upstairs is a double, twin bedrooms and shower room. The cottages come equipped with their own washer/dryers.

The Annexe - sleeps 4

Sleeps four in two bedrooms. A kitchen area comes with dishwasher and washer/dryer. The dining/living room comes with a wood burner and French windows. The double and twin bedrooms and bathroom with shower over bath are upstairs. Set slightly apart from the other cottages, the Annexe has uninterrupted views across the valley.

Winsford - sleeps 4

Upside down cottage sleeping four in two bedrooms. Bedrooms includes a double and twin bedroom, bathroom with shower over bath. An extra loo is downstairs. The kitchen/dining/ living room are upstairs. Equipped with own washer/dryer and dishwasher.

Luccombe - sleeps 6

Upside down cottage sleeping 6 in 3 bedrooms. The double comes with en suite shower room on the lower ground floor. Two twins are on the upper ground floor together with the family bathroom (bath with shower over & loo). The kitchen/dining/living room are upstairs. Equipped with own washer/dryer & dishwasher.

Allerford - sleeps 5

Sleeps five in three bedrooms. The double bedroom, bathroom with shower over bath and kitchen/ dining/living room with washer/dryer and dishwasher are downstairs. Twin and single bedrooms upstairs.

Withycombe - sleeps 6

Upside down cottage sleeping six in three bedrooms. Comes with double and two twin bedrooms, bathroom with shower over bath and shower room are downstairs. The kitchen/dining/living room is upstairs. Equipped with own washer/dryer and dishwasher.

The Stables – Sleeps 16 – 18

Sleeps up to 18 people in 8 bedrooms. Downstairs there are 2 doubles, 2 bathrooms with showers, 2 twin bedrooms and a 5th and 6th loo. On the first floor there is a double, twin and shower room. Downstairs there are 2 kitchens, a large dining room and 2 sitting rooms. Outside there is a sunny patio with a built-in BBQ.

Facilities at Duddings Country Cottage include a hard tennis court, warm indoor heated pool, putting green, pool table, table tennis table, trampoline, football net & gate lodge play centre (2 story playhouse with swings, slide, fireman’s pole & assault course).

Adjacent to the pool we have a telephone room with a payphone & a brochure room. There are eight acres of land to explore with picnic areas and a safe river where you may spot a brown trout! This is a marvellous spot for a family holiday in an area which has so much to offer.

Visiting Timberscombe & Exploring Somerset

Picturesque villages and harbours lie within easy reach and the famous ponies and red deer can be found on the moor. The medieval village of Dunster is only 2 miles away, and is well worth exploring for its castle, priory, church, tithe barn, dovecote, water mill, and the famous Yarn Market.
