AccommodationAttached to the owners’ former farmhouse, the old farm dairy has been carefully renovated into a charming two bedroomed cottage, featuring exposed stone and beams. With gas central heating and thick stone walls, the Dairy is cosy in winter and cool in summer. The holiday home sleeps up to 4 people. There is master bedroom which has a wood floor, beamed ceiling, romantic canopied bed and a washbasin. The second bedroom also comes with beamed ceiling and has a single bed and room for a second Z bed or cot. The newly fitted bathroom has an electric shower, loo and hand basin.
Larger inside than it looks, the original front door opens into the sunny sitting room, with comfortable sofa and chairs. There is a flat screen TV, DVD, CD player and iPod dock, as well as plenty of books, games maps and guides. The separate, fitted kitchen is fully equipped and has an electric cooker, fridge, washing machine, microwave and dining area with table and chairs, comfortably seating at least 4.
Outside is a walled courtyard is a parking area (joint use with owners) and a sun trap patio area for guests, with lilac, roses and other flowers, garden furniture and a BBQ. There is room in our barn for bikes or buggies etc. See website for more details.
Local AreaThe village boasts diverse and well signposted walks, including part of the Mendip Way. We provide a full range of maps and walking guides as well as a drying area for boots etc. Cycling can be easy on the flat Somerset levels, or try the Mendip hill routes for a more testing challenge. Bikes can be hired locally. The Somerset levels are marvellous for bird watching; see herons, egrets, huge flocks of swans, as well as the exhilarating murmurations of millions of starlings as they swoop in formation over the reed beds in winter.
