West Withy Farm Holiday Cottages consists of two self catering cottages situated on the eastern side of Exmoor at Dulverton near the Wimbleball Lake.
Stable Cottage - Sleeps 4 + cotStable Cottage is a detached, all on one level, cottage. It has a large lounge, dining-kitchen-living space overlooking the garden and with views to the lake. Stable Cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms - Master bedroom has a queen-sized bed with built-in wardrobe and above bed head artwork. Second bedroom has twin singles which readily convert to a super-king bed (your choice). The living space in Stable Cottage is for contemporary, open plan living. There is a fully integrated kitchen including double sink bowls, tall Liebherr fridge, Smeg extractor with over hob lights, dishwasher and washing machine under 5-meter long granite worktops. Worksurface space is complemented by a full range of kitchen equipment and utensils. There is a four-seater solid pine dining table/chairs – again with a full range of dining equipment. The lounge has a three-seater sofa and two armchairs together with a flat-screen TV, video, DVD and gas-fired log burner. Outside your cottage front door is an enclosed, fully fenced, dog friendly, lawned garden with views to our lake. The garden has a table and chairs for sunny, outdoor dining. There is also external clothes drying facilities.
Upton Cottage - Sleeps 5 + cotThe living space in Upton Cottage is very generous and designed for contemporary, open plan living. It has a fully integrated kitchen including dual Neff ovens, dishwasher and washing machine under 4-meter long granite worktops. There is an extractor and over hob lights and a standalone freezer. The worksurface space is complemented by a full range of kitchen equipment and utensils. There is a solid pine dining table with six dining chairs and a full range of dining equipment. The lounge has a three-seater sofa and two armchairs together with a flat-screen TV, video, DVD and gas-fired log burner. The cottage sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms; the Master bedroom is dual aspect with a huge double bed, built-in wardrobe and ensuite loo. Second bedroom has twin singles which readily convert to a super king bed (your choice). This is a very large bedroom with space for camp bed/cot if required. The third bedroom is a single with a built-in wardrobe. Outside your cottage door is a huge, fully enclosed, dog friendly, lawned garden – (about 500 sq. m. in the area) with views across open fields towards Haddon Hill. The garden has table and chairs for sunny outdoor dining. There is also external clothes drying facilities.
There is fishing available onsite for children. We also have telescopes available for you to enjoy the dark skies and do some star gazing. We are situated in the Exmoor Dark Sky Reserve.
Both gardens are fully enclosed and so ideal for children and pets.
Visiting Dulverton & Exploring SomersetThe landscapes and habitats of Exmoor are so varied that visitors of all ages and with all interests can create their own, very personal holiday, doing just the things that appeal. Exmoor is Europe’s first International Dark Sky Reserve. West Withy Farm has telescopes on-site for hire and our gardens and grounds are set up for stargazing. There is so much to see in the surrounding area. The natural beauty of heather-clad moorland, sea cliffs and shoreline, fast-flowing rivers in steep valleys, small villages and wildlife in abundance. West Withy Farm, with its own lake, is a haven for wildlife – 15 nesting pairs of swallows, 50+ nesting pairs of sparrows/chaffinches, wrens, wagtails, blackbirds, magpies, buzzards and wild mallard. Moorhen, heron, kingfisher, goshawk and Canada Geese also visit.
