The Monthly Tutor's Cottage
The Monthly Tutor's Cottage is set in a pretty wooded valley, 100 metres from the sea in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire. Our holiday cottage is a Grade II listed building that dates back to 1810 and is in an ideal location for 6 people who want to explore this magnificent part of Wales.
About Monthly Tutorís CottageOur holiday cottage was once used as a refuse for the Fishguards poor and destitute children. The building has been recognised for its architectural and historical importance and is a wonderful base for those who want to stay in a beautiful holiday cottage that is full of charm, character and history. The interior of the holiday cottage has been tastefully restored and retains many of the original features. It can accommodate up to 6 people with all the modern amenities you expect to find in a more contemporary residence.
On the ground floor of the holiday cottage is a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen/diner that includes sufficient crockery and cutlery for 3 sittings for 6 people. From here you can access the utility room where you will find the fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and boiler. There is a cosy carpeted lounge with wood burning stove, comfortable seating for 6, flat screen TV with DVD player, radio with CD player, bookcase, games and jigsaws. Visiting Fishguard & Exploring PembrokeshireThere are lovely walks along the river up the valley and around the coast. The coastal path opposite the cottage meanders around the bay to the small town of Goodwick where the ferry crosses to Ireland on a daily basis. There are several small coves around the bay providing good fishing and having small rock pools which are a must for crabbing. The lower town has been used for several film locations including 'Under Milk Wood' starring Richard Burton
