Tosson Tower Farm Cottages are located in Great Tosson near the village of Rothbury in Northumberland. Tosson Tower makes an ideal base from which to explore the many attractions this beautiful part of the world offers. And don't forget - we are open all the year round - It's equally beautiful in the winter too!

The Steadings

Floor to ceiling windows provide wonderful views across the Coquet valley. Full central heating with an electric fire for convenience. The kitchen in the self catering property has an electric double oven and grill, 5 ring gas hob, dishwasher, large larder fridge and under counter freezer. Comfortable sitting area, TV, DVD and access to Wi-Fi. Washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a Games Room - kitted out with a pool table and table football, Cloakroom and an extra W.C. within the property. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom with very comfortable beds. The bathroom comprises of a bath, hand basin, W.C. and a corner cubicle shower. All bed linen and towels are provided.

Beautiful enclosed garden with large lawn and pretty flower borders. Garden furniture for sunny days of just sitting and taking in the magnificent views.

All fuel and electricity is included in the rent. One pet by arrangement only. Ample off road private parking available.

Coquet View Cottage

The superbly decorated, luxury self catering accommodation consists of: large, well equipped kitchen with electric built-in oven, fridge and freezer, hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is a useful utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The property benefits from a Games Room with pool table, table football and an arcade machine as well as a cloakroom with WC. The sitting room has breath taking views over the Coquet valley and the Cheviot Hills beyond, a cast iron stove, TV, DVD player and access to Wi-Fi.

Also on the ground floor there are two double and one twin bedrooms with quality fitted or rustic pine furniture, very comfortable beds - For which all bed linen is included. There is a large bathroom with bath and shower cubicle - All towels are provided. The self catering cottage has full central heating throughout & all electricity is included in the rent. To the exterior there is a lawned garden with ample off road parking.

Forge Cottage

The self catering cottage has a spacious sitting room with TV, DVD and access to Wi-Fi. Patio doors lead onto the well kept lawn with garden furniture and breath taking views of the Coquet Valley and distant Cheviot Hills. There is a well equipped, fitted kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is one twin and two double bedrooms, all with bed linen and towels provided.

The large tiled bathroom has a sink, WC, bath and shower cubicle and there is also an extra WC within the cottage. The holiday cottage has gas central heating throughout, electricity & gas central heating is included in the rent. Cots and highchairs are available and there is off road parking for two cars.

Forge Cottage offers a superb level of self catering accommodation which is all at ground floor level with no internal steps. One pet by arrangement only.

Local Area

From coast to country, history is all around you - from the mysterious "Cup & Ring" marks carved into the rocks in Iron Age times in the hills just above Tosson Tower Farm, to the highest number of castles and fortified houses in England and not forgetting the World Heritage Centre of Hadrian's Wall - once the most northern boundary of the Roman Empire.

Tosson Tower it's self is the remains of a fortified Pele Tower - a defensive structure built in medieval times to defend against the bands of raiders who patrolled the "Debatable Lands" of the borders.

Castles are dotted up and down the coastline (all open to visitors) and are well worth a trip. From Lindisfarne on Holy Island, the birthplace of Christianity in the British Isles. The romantic cliff-top ruins of Dunstanburgh. Magnificent Bamburgh with its very own dragon legend! And not forgetting Alnwick, ancestral home to the Duke of Northumberland.
