Summary

Rawcliffe House Farm provides 4 country style cottages and 2 self catering studio rooms. Our accommodation is located amidst the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, in the hamlet of Stape which is just 6 miles from the town of Pickering.

Cottages

Our four comfortable & spacious holiday cottages at have every facility needed for a fantastic holiday in the North York Moors.

The original stone pan tiled barn has been converted to the highest specification, creating exceptionally spacious accommodation that is furnished and fitted to a high standard. They all have fully fitted kitchens, digital television with Freeview, a DVD player and CD player. We also have a laundry room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Studio Rooms

Indulge yourself in one of our ground floor self contained studio rooms which is our alternative to a bed and breakfast. Each room has been converted from the original farm buildings that are situated around the south facing courtyard.

We have converted each of our two largest rooms into a self contained room, to provide a quality bedroom with a full sized en suite bathroom. It has the additional facility of its own hideaway kitchen, where a light breakfast (or other snack), can be prepared.

You can eat in your room and of course you can eat al fresco in our south facing courtyard, enjoying the lovely views.

Visiting Stape & Exploring North Yorkshire

We are set in 42 acres of rolling pasture surrounded by wide open spaces and stunning scenery.

The nearest village from Stape is Newton-upon-Rawcliffe. It has an excellent traditional village inn called "The White Swan” which serves meals; also there is a small cafe less than 1.5 miles from Rawcliffe House. In the village of Newton-upon-Rawcliffe there is a play area with swings, climbing equipment and an AstroTurf pitch for football, basketball or tennis.

There also is the New Inn at Cropton which is 4 miles away. This is well known for its tasty food and refreshing local real ales brewed on site.

The famous steam trains of the North York Moors Railway run between Pickering and Grosmont, the nearest station is about a mile away on foot. With the magnificent steam engines, beautiful rural stations and smartly uniformed staff, a visit to the North York Moors Railway is like taking a step back in time. From the smoke and steam pouring from the engines to the cosy wood panelled carriages and friendly conductor service, the railway is both lovingly preserved and charmingly authentic. It’s also the perfect starting point for a day out; whether you’re travelling between the rugged Yorkshire villages, hiking on the wind swept moors or spending a day by the seaside in Whitby.

The nearest town is Pickering and is well known locally for its excellent restaurants, coffee shops and traditional inns, offering something to eat and drink for every taste and budget.

Other local villages and market towns such as Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside and many small picture postcard villages such as Hutton-le-Hole, where you will find the Ryedale Folk Museum are only a short drive away.
