Morndyke at Busby Stoop offers wonderful self catering accommodation on our unique working farm, offering a magical parrot sanctuary and a gorgeous lake to fish on. We are based near the bustling town of Thirsk and offer a great base for exploring North Yorkshire.

Morndyke Cottage

This luxurious cottage is perfect for the ultimate country retreat, offering stunning views over the Hambleton Hills. The ground-level cottage is nestled away adjacent to our family farmhouse and close to our wonderful parrot sanctuary at the bottom of the garden.

This recently renovated cottage has been finished to the highest standards and boasts outstanding furniture and fittings, plus toasty underfloor heating for the winter months. Inside there is a well-equipped kitchen for home-cooking, including a microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge, cooker and Emma Bridgewater crockery and kitchenware.

After a busy day sightseeing, unwind in the cosy living room which has been furnished with elegant Barker and Stonehouse furniture. Excellent facilities include a TV with Netflix and DVD player, an electric wood-burning stove and comfy seating. A useful utility room and drying room is also available. Outside there is a delightful patio area with a table and chairs for al fresco dining while savouring the views.

Two lavish bedrooms boast Laura Ashley soft furnishings and enjoys lovely views over the garden and fields. The master room comes with a king-size bed and the second room has a single bed. Both rooms share a bathroom with a large shower unit and complementary Duck Island products.

Morndyke Shepherds’ Huts

Our charming shepherd huts are tucked away in the corner of the farm, set in a scenic position next to the 2-acre coarse fishing lake. The huts come with comfy bunk beds, a dining area, toasty, wood burner, seating and a bathroom. Outside there is a paved area with a table and chairs, great for a morning coffee whilst savouring the gorgeous setting. Linen and towels can be hired for an extra charge.

Our fabulous Parrot Sanctuary provides a rescue, rehoming and rehabilitation service for unwanted parrots from across the country. We also have a fantastic lake which is stocked with a wide array of fish.

Visiting Busby Stoop & Exploring North Yorkshire

We are in the ideal location for exploring the area, with lots of stunning cycle and walking routes right on our doorstep. Less than a mile from us is Busby Stoop garage which sells essentials, whilst opposite is an award-winning Indian restaurant. Only 3 miles away is Thirsk, home to excellent, pubs, restaurants and cafes. You can also play a round or two at the Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Course. Superb attractions to visit include:
