Moorhen Cottage is a converted barn that sits on an organic dairy farm. This is the ideal accommodation for a couple or 2 people. It is located within the hamlet of Wartling. Eastbourne a lovely seaside town is 6 miles away and has the Towner Art Gallery. Newhaven is the closest dock to the property.

About Moorhen Cottage

The cottage overlooks the Pevensey levels Site Of Special Scientific Interest and has views to the sea and South Downs. The owners have created a reedbed and several other ponds on the farm which have attracted some rare species. The cottage is ideal for those that love wildlife. It has a wildlife pond and at the bottom of the garden. This makes the cottage not suitable for children.

The living space is open plan with views of the garden and Pevensey marshes. It comes equipped with a TV/DVD player, dishwasher and washing machine.

The bedroom can be made into a super king or twin room.

Outside is a spacious garden. There is ample parking beside the cottage. Also available is a large shed with table tennis and storage for bicycles.

Visiting Wartling & Exploring East Sussex

The area around the cottage is great for walking and cycling. Seasonal fishing available nearby.

It is just 5 miles to the coast including Beachy Head and Seven Sisters. The South Downs National Park is within easy reach.

Battle and Hailsham (a market town with a useful Waitrose) are all within 15 minutes drive. The delightful fishing area of Hastings and the historic town of Rye are worth a visit.

East Sussex offers plenty of interesting sites and attractions. Some places to visit include:

Cuckoo Trail.
Knockhatch Adventure Park.
