Summary

Fir Tree Lodge offers wonderful self catering accommodation near Barras, just outside of Kirkby Stephen in Cumbria. We are situated in the breathtaking Eden Valley and only 15 minutes from the Yorkshire Dales and half an hour from the Lake District.

Accommodation

We truly are in a spectacular location and boast stunning views of glorious countryside. The lodge sleeps up to 5 people and is ideal for a special holiday away.

The lounge is ideal for relaxing in after a day exploring the beauty of the surrounding area. Facilities include seating, Freeview TV and DVD player. The well equipped kitchen comes with a range of excellent appliances: washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, slow cooker, electric double oven and grill, five ring gas hob, kettle, toaster, crockery, pots, pans and utensils. A dining area is available.

Three comfortable bedrooms are available: a king, double and single. All bedding is included. The king room comes with en suite facilities and a separate bathroom comes with a shower over the bath.

We have a luxurious hot tub to relax in. This is the perfect place to sit and star gaze with a glass of prosecco. We are in a dark skies area, meaning you will see some amazing star views.

Visiting Kirkby Stephen & Exploring Cumbria

We are only 5 miles from Kirkby Stephen. The market town has shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, plus the Settle-Carlisle Railway passes nearby. Stenkrith Park is where the River Eden drops into a gorge known as Coopkarnel/Coop Kernan Hole and is crossed by the spectacular Millennium Bridge. Lots of great attractions are nearby:

Brough Castle.
Cumbria Wildlife Trust Nature Reserves.
Ewbank Scar.
Cumbria Classic Coaches.
Ruins of 12th century Pendragon Castle.
