Brackenhill Tower & The Jacobean Cottage can be found on the Bracken Hill Estate, offering self catering accommodation for up to 16 people. It is full of history & romance and is set in the heart of what was once “The Debatable Lands”. Built originally on Scottish soil, it is now the only Scottish peel tower that stands on English Soil. With the Scottish border on our doorstep and being just a short drive from the centre of Longtown, we are an ideal base for enjoying the many delights that this part of Cumbria and the Scottish Borders have to offer.

About The Tower House

Sleeping up to 10 people, this beautiful accommodation sits in 2.5 acres of gardens and has extensive woodland and river walks. The tower comprises of:

Spacious lounge complete with 52 inch plasma TV, DVD player (with selection of titles), Hi-Fi, books, games and tourist information.
Well equipped kitchen with an electric range type cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, microwave and all utensils and crockery you might need.
Dining area within the kitchen.
Great hall – This is a magnificent feature dining room. It has seating for 14 and a head table for 4. There are a wealth of original features, giving this room much charm and character.

The bedrooms are beautifully finished and have been decorated and furnished to ensure they keep in with the charm of the building. They are either on the first floor, second floor or in the tower. Please note that the tower rooms are accessed via a spiral staircase. We have the following rooms available at the accommodation:

Bedroom 1 – A double bedroom in a chic Italian style with an en suite shower room.
Bedroom 2 – Double room with four poster bed, period shower and en suite shower room.
Master bedroom – Very often used as our honeymoon suite. It has a finely carved king size 4 poster bed with master en suite that includes a large shower and slipper bath.
Third floor bedroom – A larger rom with 4 single beds and en suite facilities.

About The Jacobean Cottage

This can be let on its own and sleeps between 4 & 6 people. Guests to the cottage have access to the surrounding gardens, woodland and river walks. Inside the cottage you will find:

Fully fitted and well equipped kitchen.
Dining area seating 5.
Spacious lounge with inglenook fire place, 48 inch plasma TV, DVD player (with selection of titles), CD player, Hi-Fi, books, games and tourist information.
Double bedroom with a double sofa bed.
Double bedroom with large en suite facilities.
