Set in a small hamlet just above St. Loy’s Cove on the south coast of the Land’s End peninsula, Boskenna holds Visit England’s highest 5 Star Gold rating and offers an ideal setting for a couples’ getaway. The surroundings provide a sense of seclusion and natural beauty, making it a perfect place to unwind.
Guests can choose between a charming shepherd’s hut or a spacious cottage for two, each featuring its own private hot tub. Open throughout the year, Boskenna offers a warm, welcoming and laid-back atmosphere, giving visitors the chance to relax completely and enjoy this peaceful and tranquil corner of Cornwall.
The luxury cottage is built from traditional local materials such as granite and slate and its light, open-beamed interior showcases fine craftsmanship within spacious, modern surroundings. Designed for contemporary comfort, it features a king-size bed, a luxurious bathroom and stunning open-plan living areas with a state-of-the-art kitchen, underfloor heating and double glazing. Guests can relax in the generous living and dining space or step through the patio door into a private walled garden with sun loungers, a BBQ and a hot tub tucked into a secluded corner. Evenings can be spent unwinding on the sofa with the large flat-screen TV, DVD or stereo, or cooking in the stylish Ash kitchen equipped with granite worktops, ceramic hob, split-level oven, integrated microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge-freezer. The bathroom offers a large shower and a deep double-ended bath, while the bedroom provides a blissful retreat with a king-size bed, elegant furnishings and a glazed door leading to a sheltered patio ideal for summer dining. The cottage is personally cleaned and cared for to ensure the highest standards, operates a non-smoking policy and accepts only guide dogs by prior arrangement. Ample off-road parking is available within the grounds.
You won’t need to sacrifice any home comforts in this shepherd’s hut, which is equipped with a king-size bed that stays in place all day, underfloor heating to complement the log-burning stove, and excellent insulation to keep the space warm and inviting. A fully integrated bathroom with a large drench shower means no nighttime trips across a paddock, and double glazing enhances the sense of comfort. The hut also offers a full-sized cooker, fridge and television, providing a level of luxury no shepherd would ever have known. Positioned to capture the afternoon and evening sun at the front while still allowing you to wake to the sunrise through the bedroom window, the hut offers glimpses of the sea and the soothing sounds of birdsong, all within a peaceful and private setting. A secluded hot tub sits just behind the hut, perfectly placed for enjoying the late sun or gazing at the moon and stars. With Friday and Monday changeover days, guests can choose a seven or ten day stay or opt for a shorter three or four night break. As access involves three steps up into the cabin, it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility, who may find the Coach House bedroom suite or Boskenna Cottage more appropriate.
Whether you’re surfing at Sennen Cove, walking the coastal paths in the fresh sea air, spotting dolphins from Land’s End or wandering through picturesque fishing villages, this corner of Cornwall offers something truly special. Days out might include visiting some of Cornwall’s finest gardens, crossing to St Michael’s Mount to explore its iconic castle, watching a performance at the spectacular open-air Minack Theatre or enjoying outstanding art at Tate St Ives.
