Higher Lank Farm

Summary

Higher Lank Farm specialises in family friendly holidays and is especially geared for children under 10. This traditional, working farm is located within the village of St Breward which is at the start of the Camel trail and only a short drive from the Cornish towns of Wadebridge, Bodmin and Camelford. There are 2 self catering properties available onsite and catered for holidays are on offer in the farmhouse. There is a maximum of 5 families staying at one time so that every child can be fully involved in all farm activities and exclusive use of the swimming pool is possible too.

The Farmhouse

The Farmhouse accommodates up to 3 families with up to 3 children in each family. The farmhouse does not offer self catering facilities, if you choose to stay in the farmhouse you will be well looked after, with your room chambermaid every day and a full Cornish cooked breakfast available each morning. This 15th Century property has 3 family rooms and are all fully equipped for babies, toddlers and small children. They have miniature beds and cots when required, TV, CD player, books, toys and tea/coffee making facilities.

Downstairs there is a spacious lounge exclusively for the use of guests equipped with plenty of toys. Leading from the lounge is a further room for jigsaw and track building enthusiasts! Breakfast and our welcome tractor and trailer ride and Cornish high tea are included in the price of all farmhouse stays, and it is possible to add nursery teas on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and adult suppers too. There is a small guest kitchen, fully equipped with a microwave for warming baby feeds, ample storage and a fridge for storing snacks and picnic food and the odd bottle of wine!

Bo Peep Cottage

This self catering cottage can sleep up to 4 adults and 5 children. There’s a master bedroom with an adjoining nursery, a children's room for 3 with beautifully bespoke tree beds and upstairs a twin/super king en suite bedroom perfect for grandparents.

There is a spacious living room which has a wide screen TV, DVD player, wood burning stove, books, games and toys. The open plan kitchen/diner is fully equipped and there is a family bathroom and shower room. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you need for babies and toddlers too from the steam steriliser to stargazes and real nappies if you would like too.

Outside you will find a private garden with garden furniture, sun loungers and a BBQ as well as a separate children's play area, and there are lots of communal play areas to explore too.

Humpty Dumpty Cottage

This holiday cottage can accommodate up to 2 adults and 3 children or 3 adults and 2 children.

It has a large vaulted ceilinged Master bedroom has uninterrupted views over the countryside from its beautiful arched window, and its own nursery with three of everything, so it’s perfect for twins or triplets.

There is a family bathroom and a separate wet room. The children's bedroom has amazing bespoke tree beds sleeping two children, plus a further single bed. There is a spacious lounge and wonderfully big kitchen diner with doors opening on to a decked garden eating area.
This cottage also has sun loungers, garden furniture and a safe private garden for your children to play in.

Onsite

Daily animal feeding takes place from about 9.30 and all the children staying (and their parents) are encouraged to get involved. As we only have five families we are able to get to know the children staying really well and to make sure even the reserved are fully involved. We have chicks and ducklings to feed and hold, lambs to bottle feed, goat, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys to feed and let out each morning. During your stay, your children will also have the opportunity to enjoy a pony and trap and pony ride too.

There is an indoor biomass heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, hot tub and sauna. Tractor rides, animal feeding, play areas, tractor rides and more. Onsite activities are included in the price.

Location

If you want to venture out of the farm there are a range of places to visit within Cornwall and Devon. Some example of the attractions includes The Lappa Valley Railway, Newquay Zoo, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, National Marine Aquarium and Crealy Adventure Park.



Rates: £625 - £1900 per week depending on the season.
