Blackthorn, our luxury holiday chalet is situated overlooking the River Dee in the heart of Royal Deeside 1.5 Miles East of Kincardine O’Neil, the oldest village on Deeside.
About BlackthornThe chalet is a unique architectural design, it has been finished to the highest standard with all furnishings and fittings specially selected to complement this spacious self-catering holiday accommodation and has Private Car Parking provided.
The chalet has 1 master bedroom with king-size bed and 1 twin bedroom with two single beds and a single fold-down bed. A hairdryer, all bed linen, towels and heating are all-inclusive in price.
The bathroom is the latest wet room style fitted with an all-body jet spray shower and under tile controlled floor heating.
The open plan kitchen has a full cooker c/w fan oven, microwave, dishwasher and a fridge/freezer.
The main living area has seating for 5 people, solid oak wooden flooring, 32in smart TV and DVD player, floor to ceiling windows which give uninterrupted views over the River Dee and surrounding countryside. The south-facing glass windows with French doors open onto a large raised decked area complete with barbecue and seating. This area is ideal for spending an evening overlooking the river as the sun disappears behind Lochnagar.
A stair leads up from the living area to a gallery room which is perfect for “quiet time”, reading or games. There is seating for 3/4 people with carpeted floor, reading lights etc. This area overlooks the main open plan lounge. Above the living area, there are 5 large roof glass panel windows which have electrically operated blinds.
Central Heating throughout the chalet and hot water are provided via an environmental efficient Renewable Energy Biomass system using radiators. A stove is also installed. An outdoor Sauna is available for guests with the permission of the owner.
A “welcome food pack” along with all bedding, towels, heating and electricity are included in the price.
Visiting Kincardine O'Neil & Exploring AberdeenshireKincardine O’Neil is 1.5 miles to the west of the chalet with the beautiful Kincardine Castle overlooking the village which has a Post Office, General store/Deli, Hairdresser, Treasures jewellery shop, Chinese takeaway, textile sale/designer and speciality cake shop.
A 10-minute walk to the East is the famous Potarch Bridge with the excellent Potarch cafe and licensed restaurant. The Deeside Way (over 40 miles long) passes the chalet and is a long-distance path running from central Aberdeen to Ballater in the Cairngorms famous for its Victorian heritage and links to Balmoral Castle. The path is suitable for walkers and cyclists with many sections suitable for horses and is Route 195 of the National Cycle Network which is coordinated and promoted by Sustrans.
The larger villages of Aboyne and Banchory are equidistant from the chalet and lie 7 miles to the East and West respectfully, both have supermarkets and additional shops.
