Huntingball Lodge is an elegant, quiet country house that enjoys beautiful views of Blue Anchor Bay near Dunster. Nestled in a lovely part of rural Somerset and within easy reach of Exmoor National Park, our accommodation is the perfect base for a relaxing break. This elegant and quiet country house comprises of three holiday apartments, which are open all year round.

About Huntingball Lodge

Our holiday accommodations are in an elevated position in its own park-like grounds of 1.5 acres. From every apartment, there are the most spectacular and far reaching views across the bay and along the West Somerset coast, towards the medieval village of Dunster and its castle and up to Dunkery Beacon (highest point on Exmoor), the Brendon Hills and surrounding Exmoor countryside. Each holiday cottage is exceedingly spacious, well furnished and uniquely individual in design.

Avalon - Sleeps 3

An attractive, ground floor apartment with original wood panelled walls and carvings from the 1930’s.

The accommodation comprises of:

- A comfortable sitting room with oak panelled walls and picture windows on two sides, magnificent views across the gardens as well as Exmoor and the Bay and a door that leads out onto a large private patio.
- The spacious double bedroom boasting original oak panelling and fabulous views,
- A comfortable and airy single bedroom,
- Large kitchen/dining room with an entrance porch, and
- A fitted bath and shower room as well as a separate toilet room.

Beacon - Sleeps 5

This apartment is an extremely large, two bedroom first-floor apartment, boasting spectacular views from all the rooms.

The accommodation comprises of:

- The superb sitting room, offering sweeping 180-degree views over the bay and surrounding Exmoor and Brendon Hills,
- The main bedroom with a King Sized bed that overlooks Blue Anchor Bay,
- A large twin bedroom with an equally lovely view,
- A large kitchen/dining area that's connected to a private roof terrace with patio furniture,
- A well fitted bathroom with shower.

Cleeve Apartment - Sleeps 2

This one bedroom apartment is located on the first floor. It has lovely views of the gardens as well as a private terrace for those days you'd like to soak up the sun or enjoy the fresh night air. The accommodation comprises of:

- A newly furnished and decorated sitting room with lovely views over the gardens,
- Fitted kitchen,
- Bedroom with a new ‘Super King' sized bed with views of the sea, and
- a well appointed Shower Room.

Dunster - Sleeps 4

This spacious two bedroom apartment is located on the second-floor and has the most magnificent views from its lounge, as well as a large, private balcony.

The accommodation comprises of:

- Spacious sitting room with a large private balcony overlooking majestic views of Exmoor and Blue Anchor Bay,
- A large main bedroom, with a Super King sized bed that boasts glorious views across the gardens and sea,
- A twin bedroom with superb views across the surrounding Exmoor and Brendon Hills,
- The fully fitted kitchen/dining room overlooking the sea, and
- A well-appointed bathroom with shower.

Exmoor Apartment - Sleeps 2

This apartment is located on the ground floor. With fabulous views of the main gardens as well as the benefit of a private terrace for those sunny days or starry nights.The accommodation comprises of:

- A newly furnished and decorated sitting room,
- Fitted kitchen,
- Bedroom with a double sized bed; and
- an easy access shower room.

Visiting Blue Anchor & Exploring Somerset

There are two pubs within easy walking distance and a local tea room. Just ten minutes walk along the seafront there is a convenience store/newsagents together with a small indoor swimming pool. Railway enthusiasts will love the West Somerset Steam Railway, which runs between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead, and which stops at the station at the far end of Blue Anchor Bay just a 15-minute stroll from the house. There is so much to do and see, no matter what the season, in this beautiful part of the West Country.

From visiting the picturesque and historic towns and villages, walking, riding, cycling through the unspoilt countryside and across the moors or taking a trip on the Steam Railway. Or simply just curl up with a good book in the comfort of your apartment and admire the spectacular scenery (with perhaps a glass of the famous local cider!). You’ll be spoilt for choice!
