Pentre Bach Cottages
Pentre Bach Cottages offer self catering accommodation situated where the mountains meet the sea in Blaenpennal, Ceredigion. The three self-catering cottages are set in three acres of land, overlooking Cardigan Bay, with dramatic Cader Idris and its fellow mountains virtually outside the back door.
AccommodationPentre Bach (Little Village in Welsh) is composed of three properties which can be booked separately or in any combination depending on the size of your party. For that special occasion why not book all three together?
Main House - Rebuilt in 1860, the main house retains all of its original features and elegance - a beautiful entrance hallway and staircase, two very large reception rooms and six large bedrooms (three of which are en-suite) and two further family bathrooms. The views from every window are truly spectacular and the house oozes character and charm.
The main reception rooms both enjoy uninterrupted views over Cardigan Bay to the Lleyn Peninsula. Retaining the character and charm of the house, with a large round pine table, the farmhouse kitchen is warm and cosy. Relax with a book from our well stocked bookshelves or get together to play one of our many family board games.
Y Popty - If you imagine a country cottage then this has to be it in reality - cosy living room, beamed ceiling with open fire in inglenook surround - the perfect place for a romantic retreat at any time of the year. Relax in the walled holiday cottage garden or open the gate and enjoy the magnificent views across the ha-ha to the sea from Y Popty's patio.
Downstairs: Beamed sitting/diner with inglenook fireplace and cosy open fire; partially screened-off modern kitchen.
Upstairs: Two double bedrooms. 3rd bedroom with full-length, sturdy children's bunks; bath/shower & toilet.
y Llaethdy - This quirky little cottage offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the splendid sea views whilst relaxing with a book and a bottle of wine at any time of year. In the summer time you can sit in the garden or in the winter you can enjoy the scenery from the comfort of the conservatory.
The self catering accommodation allows flexibility in terms of the family group and the cottage can easily be booked in combination with any of the other properties at Pentre Bach. This is the perfect self catering cottage to relax and enjoy magnificent sunsets on those long summer evenings and to ensure that you have a truly memorable holiday.
Local AreaWhether you enjoy adventurous activities such as Go Ape, mountain biking, hiking, surfing or gorge walking, or prefer to indulge in more sedate pastimes such as golf, fishing, pony trekking, bird-watching or sailing, all are only a short drive away from Pentre Bach.
Or why not stay put and make the most of our facilities by relaxing on one of our three patios, gazing out to sea, trying to catch a glimpse of passing dolphins, while enjoying a glass of wine?
The more active might prefer to fly a kite, play rounders or hide and seek in our spacious grounds. There’s a willow den and tyre swings for children and a table tennis room for all ages.
