Cloud Cuckoo, Castle Douglas, Dalry, Dumfries & Galloway
Sleeps 1-6

An enchanting and peaceful, Galloway holiday cabin .... with a difference!
We (John and Lesley Wykes) offer a very well appointed, detached, wooden holiday log cabin / lodge, nestling amongst trees in spectacular Galloway countryside (South West Scotland). We have made the lodge a comfortable "home from home" for guests to enjoy.
Our small woodland is rich in bird life and red squirrels visit the feeders daily.
The detached log cabin, which will comfortably accommodate 6 people, is 3 miles from Lochinvar and St. John's Town of Dalry and within easy reach of market towns and solway coast beaches.
The cabin is available to rent for periods upwards of 3 nights.
We provide a generous, complimentary welcome pack with local wine, bread and basic requirements. Arrangements can be made for special occasions. Make it a holiday to remember. Lesley is delighted to help with any requests or surprises.
The cabin is lavishly equipped with t v , dvd and tape/cd player together with a wide selection of viewing and listening materials and has a wood burning stove, electric heating and double glazing for cozy winter breaks.
This is a single, detached holiday cabin for short term rental, within it's own fenced land. It is not on a site and is situated on one side of a picturesque valley, ideal for discovering Galloway and South West Scotland.
This is a quiet, rural location, with stunning views. The area is famous for it's "dark skies" as Galloway is one of the best in the world.
You can see the log cabin here amongst the trees. It is surrounded by beautiful Galloway scenery.
Our cottage is behind the trees on the left of the photo. The lodge is completely separate and private, but we are close by to help if required.
The holiday cabin has 3 bedrooms, 2 double (1 with en-suite facilities) and 1 twin. The rooms have fitted mirrored wardrobes.
Boating and water skiing are available nearby on Loch Ken.
The area is ideal for a walking holiday (we are on the Southern upland way) or cycling, fishing, golfing, photography etc.

Maximum of 6 people. Children are welcome.
No smoking. Pets allowed by arrangement.

Groom's & Garden Cottage, Nr Berwick-upon-Tweed, Berwickshire, Scottish Borders
Sleeps 1-2

The Stable Buildings at Wedderburn Castle are about two hundred yards from the main house, set in a secluded area of grass and woodland. Constructed and altered over many years, the present group of buildings dates mainly from about 1795, and forms a double courtyard.
The cottages - along a south facing flank of the stables - have recently had a major internal restoration and improvement programme and are now available for holiday visitors to the area.
The Grooms cottage (sleeps 2), though not large, is very comfortable for two people. Downstairs : Kitchen / sitting-room. The kitchen has - Gas Hob, small electric oven, microwave oven, fridge and washing machine. The sitting room has an open fire and a colour television and radio. Upstairs : Double Bedroom with Bathroom. Gas central heating, hot water and electricity are included in the weekly rental. Logs or coal can be purchased locally in small quantities. Duvet, bed linen and towels are provided.
Garden Cottage:
A luxurious and romantic hideaway for two. Adjacent to the former kitchen garden at Wedderburn, it has views to the South facade of the castle and the Cheviot Hills. The first floor bedroom has a full-height window framing the view of the castle. A huge stone fireplace, complete with wood-burning stove, provides the focal point for the sitting room and the bright kitchen has French doors looking out across a spacious private lawn to the front. The floorboards that now add to the warm, atmospheric feel of the cottage were all cut from a single ancient ash tree that grew beside the castle and fell in a storm. Sleeps two: One king-size double.
The castle and lands of Wedderburn have belonged to the Home family for almost 600 years. The present house was built in 1785 and incorporates the walls of a much older castle.
Today the castle remains a private family house, available for exclusive fully serviced weekend, mid-week or weekly rental. Restored and continually maintained to the highest standard, every original feature is retained, and can be appreciated as intended. All of the modern comforts that one would expect are successfully incorporated without detracting from the character of the house and the relaxed atmosphere which visitors continually comment upon and enjoy so much.
Rates : From £355 to £495 per week depending on season & unit.
Maximum of 4 people in each cottage. Children are welcome.
Smoking is only permitted outside. Sorry, no pets allowed.
