The Red House Hotel and Maxton Lodge Apartments are situated together in the leafy lanes of Chelston, a charming and tranquil area of Torquay providing village shops and identified by its large red-stone Victorian villas.
We are situated only 800 yards from Torre Abbey Sands and close to the harbour and town-just a short ride away by bus which passes our door. Guests are invited to enjoy the extensive leisure facilities including indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, spa bath and gym.
Maxton Lodge comprises fully equipped, centrally heated apartments located directly next to the Red House hotel. Guests staying in the apartments can also enjoy the facilities of the hotel and the leisure club. Maxton Lodge offers private guest parking facilities, sea views and laundry facilities.
If you wish to have the convenience of meals in the hotel, yet the privacy and space of an apartment then why not choose our Apart hotel tariff. Guests staying on an Apart hotel basis stay in a self-catering apartment at Maxton Lodge but enjoy breakfast and dinner at the Red House Hotel.
All guests can enjoy our extensive leisure facilities which include heated indoor and outdoor pools, Spa, Sauna and well equipped gymnasium. There is also a sun shower available at a small extra cost and a beauty salon which offers a wide range of treatments and massages.
Guests of all ages will enjoy the extensive Patio and Poolside area located between Maxton Lodge and the Red House Hotel. During the summer months this is a very popular spot for guests to relax, sunbath and take a dip in the heated pool. Bar meals are also served in this area, on a fine day you never need to leave the poolside.
The large indoor heated pool provides all-the-year-round enjoyment for guests. A fully equipped gymnasium gives the opportunity to tone muscles, our in-house beauty salon offers a wide variety of treatment by professionals to help keep you feeling at your best during your stay.

Northway Holiday Cottages, Horns Cross, Bideford, Devon

Our farmhouse and pretty stone cottages set around a courtyard offer unusually spacious self-catering holiday accommodation with superb facilities. We are situated within half a mile of the dramatic coastal footpath above Peppercombe's National Trust shingle beach and within five miles of the glorious sandy beach at Westward Ho! Northway is surrounded by miles of fabulous walks and is the perfect place to unwind from the rigours of every day life, with spectacular sea views, coastal path walks, open countryside and farm animals.
We have eight surprisingly spacious cottages sleeping from 2 to 13 people and The Buttery, a more compact cottage for two. They are mostly arranged around a long courtyard, which has the feel of a small hamlet. Some have sea views, some with views of the surrounding fields and gardens.
All of our cottages are converted from the original farm buildings and retain features and character such as beams, vaulted ceilings and stone walls. They are attractively furnished whilst also being clean, comfortable and well equipped. All are suitable for out of season stays, some centrally heated, some with log burners or open fires and some with a mixture of night storage and panel heaters. Most cottages have their own gardens and some accept pets.
All have access to wooden garden furniture and a barbecue, either in their own garden/patio or in the large communal gardens. Cots (no linen provided), highchairs and stairgates are available in all cottages except The Buttery.

It is warm and light with wonderful views over Bideford Bay. There are spacious changing facilities, toilets and showers and seats for non swimmers. Please note the pool is not supervised and all children must be accompanied by a swimming adult. We also have, alongside the pool a Hot Tub spa which seats up to four people. A wonderful way to relax after those country/coastal walks. The pool and spa are open daily from 9.00 until 7.30, except one morning a week from 11.00 to allow time for additional cleaning. Indoor Swimmming Pool, Northway Holiday Cottages There is a fitness room containing a running machine, exercise bike and rowing machine. This is open 24 hours, every day to anyone over sixteen years. The Games Room is a large purpose built room housing all you need to entertain yourselves and the children on holiday. Table tennis ( bats and balls provided ), table football ( 50p) and a pool table ( 50p), provide plenty of opportunity for some family tournaments. There is a small play area reserved for toddlers and there is free access to the Internet via WiFi.

An elegant Tudor-style house built in 1888 and set in a pleasant garden, with a patio that is a definite sun-trap. We are well situated in a conservation area only 500 metres from Torquay Harbour and the bustling town centre with its variety of restaurants, shops and entertainment.
There need never be a dull moment! There is always plenty to do regardless of the weather, including a ride on the steam railway, a visit to Kents Cavern, Torre Abbey, the Model Village, Paignton Zoo, fishing, or just laze on one of the many beaches. However, for the more active the local area provides golf, water sports, squash and tennis or, a good walk along one of the many beautiful coastal paths. For those who do not want to use a car there is a frequent local bus service outside Bedford House and other services to many parts of Devon leave from the Harbour. A private car park is provided.
At Bedford House all of the apartments are completely self-contained with bath/shower, WC, fully equipped kitchen with full size electric cooker, refrigerator and microwave. Electric fires and colour televisions are also supplied as are duvets, pillows and bed linen. Electricity is on a meter in all the flats. A metered washing machine and dryer are available for the use of the guests.
