Lane End Barn offers fabulous self catering accommodation in Nun Monkton, a traditional village in beautiful Yorkshire countryside. The village houses and cottages are dotted round a maypole and duck ponds, and footpaths give you direct access over the meadows to the rivers for long riverside walks. York, Harrogate, the Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales are all short drives away.

Accommodation

Lane End Barn is a beautiful conversion of a Listed barn which stands in the grounds of the owner's rose-covered cottage.

The bedrooms: The room with a double bed is light and airy. It has a small wardrobe and one chest of drawers. There is a full length mirror in the bedroom and a hairdryer. The en suite bathroom has a bath with Aqualisa shower, toilet and wash basin with shaver point. The bed is a very comfortable double with king size duvet and 100% cotton bed linen. Centrally heated throughout with thermostat adjustments.

The room with the twin beds is more cosy, again with 100% cotton bed linen and deep mattresses. There is a cupboard under the stairs which has been adapted to hang clothes and store luggage, two small chests of drawers, a mirror and hair dryer. Opposite the bedroom is a shower room with Aqualiser shower in a shower cabinet, toilet and wash basin with shaver point. All centrally heated with adjustable radiators.

Kitchen/Diner/Sitting Room: This is a spectacular contemporary, light, airy room with open pine beams in the ceiling and delightful views across the village green. There is a wood burning stove to snuggle around in the winter and deep comfy sofas with a handmade oak coffee table made by an up and coming local furniture maker. The large colour television includes a DVD player, Freeview box, plus there is a separate radio and CD player with Bluetooth.. For those (rare) rainy days there are a selection of games, cards and books.

The kitchen has been designed by a professional cook, so it's very well stocked with good knives, saucepans and a decent sized chopping board. There is a cafetiere, cheese grater, potato peeler and cork screw. In fact, everything you would find in your own kitchen and more. The double oven has a ceramic hob and extractor fan. There is a dishwasher, microwave and built-in fridge.

The utility room provides a good place to hang coats and store muddy boots next to the warm boiler, the utility room also houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. You will also find an iron and ironing board for that special occasion.

Visiting Nun Monkton & Exploring North Yorkshire

Due to the fact that Nun Monkton has no through traffic there is no public transport. The nearest railway station is 2.2 miles at Hammerton and York station is 11.1 miles and there are good taxi services. Lots of great golf courses are in the area, including Harrogate Golf Club, Pannal, Oakdale and Knaresborough. You enjoy glorious walks in the Dales or the North Yorkshire Moors. Children will have a brilliant time at Lightwater Valley theme park near Ripon or Flamingo Land near Malton. Further attractions to visit include:
