Brockweir, Wye Valley, Monmouthshire
Spring Cottage is a delightful self-catering holiday cottage that enjoys a picturesque setting in a woodland clearing just above the River Wye.
The ground floor contains the sitting room which is the perfect place for relaxing after a day's walking or enjoying a cosy night in front of the fire. It features a natural stone floor, wooden beamed ceiling, two sofas, a modern feature woodburner, a television, VHS and DVD player. There is also a bookcase stocked with novels, magazines, DVDs and boardgames.
The newly fitted kitchen/dining room is well equipped and contains an electric hob and cooker, cooker hood, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster and kettle. The room also has an oval oak dining table and chairs.
The kitchen/dining room is fully equipped with cookery equipment and utensils, crockery and kitchen and dining linen. Larder essentials are also provided including tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil, washing up liquid, soap and dishwasher powder. We also provide a picnic basket with lightweight crockery and cutlery and a blanket should you wish to picnic by the river, in the garden or in the woods.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the utility room containing storage for boots and coats, a washing machine, ironing board and iron.
The first floor is accessed via a spiral oak staircase off the lounge. The bedrooms and hallway have thick natural wool carpeting, hand painted furniture and oak windows with fine views out over the valley.
There are two bedrooms in the cottage - one featuring a kingsize bed and the second bedroom either two singles or a king (please specify your preferred arrangement when booking). Both bedrooms have a cottage feel with handmade cutatins that compliment the hand painted furniture.
The Bathroom has a newly fitted bathroom suite including a full length bath with separate shower above, heated towel rail, WC and counter top basin. The bathroom also benefits from some of the best views of the valley from the cottage.
The cottage is set within an acre of it's own land which includes garden, orchard and woodland. The garden is arranged over different levels and includes an outdoor dining area surrounded by mature borders for summer time al-fresco dining. A barbecue and outdoor table and chairs are provided for the summer months.
Spring Cottage is just over a mile from the heart of Brockweir - a charming village with a traditional pub and community shop set on the banks of the river Wye.
The larger settlement of Tintern is a lovely 2 mile riverside walk from Brockweir. In addition to it's world famous Abbey, Tintern also has six pubs, a renowned bookshop, antique shop and a number of craft shops.
