Summary

Rowden Mill Station offers unique self catering accommodation in Bredenbury, based at a beautifully renovated train station from the 1890s. We are nestled in a gorgeous countryside setting and ideally placed for exploring a range of attractions in Herefordshire.

The Station Building

We offer accommodation for up to 4 people in The Station Building. The Platform Canopy comes with seating for 8 and an outdoor table and chairs is perfect for al fresco dining whilst savouring the views. There is also a 3 seater bench to relax on.

Inside the former Waiting Room is a lounge with a wood-burning stove, seating, TV, DVD player bookcase. The kitchen is housed in the former Booking Office and comes with a range of appliances: gas hob over an electric oven, extractor hood, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher. The Ducale table can be extended to seat 6.

The former Ladies’ Waiting Room has a double bed, a Victorian feature fireplace and a tall window that offers views of the surrounding hills. A second bedroom has adult-sized bunk beds. The rooms share a Victorian bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Parcel Office

We offer self-contained accommodation in the former Parcel Office. This spacious studio boasts views of the rolling hills and comes with a comfy sofa to relax on. Sliding doors offer direct access to the platform. The studio is great for a couple or can be used as annexe to the Station Building for larger families or groups of friends visiting the station. The room has a double bed, a table with 2 chairs and a sofa bed. The en suite bathroom has a modern shower.

Inside there is a log burner which is the only means of heating. The incredibly efficient wood-burning stove in the Parcel Office ensures warmth in the winter months, and provides a place by the fire for those evenings when required at other times of the year. A supply of wood and kindling over winter is included.

If unsure on how to run a wood burner, do not worry, we will brief you on the operation of the stove during our meeting and greeting on arrival at the station. On cold days, we will already have started the fire ahead of your arrival.

We have a home cinema which includes a large screen and projector with a DVD/Blu-ray player and speaker system, plus guests can borrow from our collection of films on DVD. The kitchenette has a two-ring gas hob with an extraction fan, undercounter fridge, kettle, microwave oven, toaster, sink & drainer.

Saloon Coach

Our 1960s vintage-style railway carriage sleeps up to 4 people and is nestled along the line on Platform 2, a green space home to trees, ferns, bluebells and wildflowers. Panorama windows offer views of the whole station site from the lounge. Outside there is a picnic table and BBQ facilities for al fresco dining.

At one end of the Saloon Coach is a lounge-diner with G-Plan dining table and chairs, 1960s-style sofas along with vintage coffee tables that offer a great spot to relax after sightseeing. Further entertainment facilities include a wall-mounted TV with Netflix and catch-up channels.

The now modern fully-equipped kitchen is in its original space as railway engineers often enjoyed the services of a chef while travelling around. It comes with a gas hob with an electric oven and an extractor fan, under the under-the-counter fridge and dishwasher, a sink with drainer, and a radiator

The 2nd sleeping compartment has full-size bunks and at the other end of the corridor is the main bedroom which has a double bed. The rooms share a bathroom which has a shower cubicle.
